I am disgusted by the announcement that these two have sacked 15 British members of staff. What are they thinking?
I ask myself 'how would I feel if I'd upped sticks and gone to another country out of loyalty to my employer, only for them to get rid of me 3 months later.
I would be heartbroken and furious.

Yes GG, we all have to be a bit more careful, I’m trying to be too as one of mine was deleted. But still no point in Grany getting herself upset about it.

GracesGranMK3 Mon 09-Mar-20 12:36:55

A number of posts have been deleted on this thread, so I wouldn’t worry about it Grany. maddyone Mon 09-Mar-20 12:26:53

I found what I had written in my deleted post on another machine that hadn't updated. It did name someone but not because I was saying anything about them but because I was identifying the post I was replying to. Being very careful about that now.

maddyone Mon 09-Mar-20 12:26:53

A number of posts have been deleted on this thread, so I wouldn’t worry about it Grany. Unless a post is a personal attack on another Gransnetter, I feel posts shouldn’t be deleted. Posts have been deleted on this thread that are not personal attacks on actual Gransnetters, but are expressing views on H+M or political views on the monarchy, as was yours Grany.

Welshwife He is still working on the Invictus Games. That is why he has been seen with Bon Jovi who is also involved in some way.

Welshwife Mon 09-Mar-20 12:17:47

I hope there is a way Harry will still be able to be involved with the Invictus games - he did a good job there and everyone - organisers - athletes etc - seemed to happy with how successful the previous games have been.

merlotgran Mon 09-Mar-20 12:14:12

I don't understand why Grany's post was deleted. I've only been skimming through this thread this morning because I've been busy but I could see anything harmful. confused

Surely republican views are allowed?

Grany Mon 09-Mar-20 12:10:36

Oh my post was deleted it was about about Prince Charles, the Duchy questioning the feudal way he runs the estate the millions he gets from it. All Duchy tennents should get the same rights as the rest of us.
It was written by Republic I should have written something in my own words.
I think some of you on GN disagreed with what I posted though as this is a thread about M and H and Charles is Harry's dad. Thought it would be an interesting question to raise.

Summerlove Mon 09-Mar-20 12:06:58

It may have appealed to him to live a part time existence though

Exactly. We just don’t know.

I think it’s crazy to lay all the blame at his wife’s feet.

Men are fully capable of making up their own minds.

I just hate to see a woman vilified for actions that both parts of a couple make. Especially as we do not know who the driving force was

lemongrove Mon 09-Mar-20 11:59:42

Summer....it’s a reasonable assumption that Harry hadn’t wanted to go off and live in Canada or the USA.
It may have appealed to him to live a part time existence though, but I seriously doubt they will spend the six months here he first envisaged.

lemongrove Mon 09-Mar-20 11:53:49

I have Republican views concerning the RF, but as they are in place, the least the immediate family can do is their duty.
If they don’t want to engage in public duties/ engagements then they cease to be royal, after all, what else are they for?
Harry and Meghan want it all.
William and Catherine will now pick up the slack and become the darlings of the future, and to be fair all credit to them.

trisher Mon 09-Mar-20 11:52:32

So you wouldn't wan to avoid someone with paedophile connections Annie after all perhaps that's why they went.

Anniebach Mon 09-Mar-20 11:48:59

trisher this thread has nothing to do with Andrew. And to
condemn an entire family because of allegations against one
member of the family is so unfair.

You are a republican?

Summerlove Mon 09-Mar-20 11:46:48

In giving in to whatever his wife demanded, he has lost more than he bargained for, I suspect he thought the RF would cave in to whatever they wanted. They didn’t.

But this is what gets me. We do not know that she is driving this. We can suspect, there is certainly all the gossip, but we do not know that this isn’t him.

trisher Mon 09-Mar-20 11:42:12

Weird is the word for it. 2 people who are taking rich daddy's money and going off to build a life for themselves and their child are roundly condemned, whilst one son who has taken mummy's money all his life and spent it in some very questionable ways can sit at home, call his kids "royal" and nobody bats an eyelid. The whole of the RF is as dodgy as hell and I think H&M are well out of it. I certainly wouldn't have wanted any of my children to have contact with an uncle with paedophile connections.

lemongrove Mon 09-Mar-20 11:35:09

I very much dislike their actions, they want the privileges
but not what goes with them.

maddyone Mon 09-Mar-20 11:31:13

Remember Harry has been HRH since birth, that must have been difficult for him.

maddyone Mon 09-Mar-20 11:30:29

Of course they’ve lost HRH, temporarily at the moment, but possibly forever, if they decide to remain ‘non royals.’

lemongrove Mon 09-Mar-20 11:26:18

I don’t dislike either Harry or Meghan trisher but very much dislike their behaviour in quitting this country and royal duties whilst still being funded by Charles ( Duchy money or taxpayers money.)
The fact that they have cleared off to live a probably idle celebrity lifestyle whilst still wanting to retain royal titles says it all.

maddyone Mon 09-Mar-20 11:18:17

Yes, I accept that Trisher, I just wouldn’t refer to anyone by their surname, which neither did you, but I appreciate that the media frequently don’t use Meghan’s correct title.

A weird and obsessive thread where grans are receiving personal attacks for participating. Of course all this achieves is to keep the thread running endlessly which I think is probably the intention. Trolls need feeding after all.

ananimous Mon 09-Mar-20 10:41:03

Don't you lot get me started on Anne of Cleves! Another one who cost the peasants a small fortune. Lol!

trisher Mon 09-Mar-20 10:40:56

maddyone as she is sometimes referred to as "Markle" (not even Meghan) on this thread I thought it best to use terminology posters would understand.

maddyone Mon 09-Mar-20 10:20:55

trisher
Her name is Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, or simply Meghan. She dropped her maiden name when she married, in line with millions of other women the world over.
Just saying.
