I am disgusted by the announcement that these two have sacked 15 British members of staff. What are they thinking?
I ask myself 'how would I feel if I'd upped sticks and gone to another country out of loyalty to my employer, only for them to get rid of me 3 months later.
I would be heartbroken and furious.

Well said Washerwoman

Watching the rugby here and once again thinking how sad Harry isn't there cheering England on.And I'm another one who feels disillusioned with the whole H and M saga.Yes they looked loved up and lovely in those photos. That's fine.I don't wish them unhappiness or harm. But increasingly I feel since those comments in South Africa about existing but not thriving that I just want them to get on a plane on get on with their lives without another penny of our taxes funding them. And I don't want listen to one more 'inspirational ' talk by Meghan about empowering women.I will take my inspiration from all the amazing women slogging it out in the real world as nurses, doctors, teachers ,carers etc. that I personally know.

Exactly, celebrities come and go but the royal family should remain a constant. Maybe it is Harry's departure which has angered or upset people.

Bridgeit Sat 07-Mar-20 18:03:38

Yes many are interested in building them up to knock them down.

Anniebach Sat 07-Mar-20 17:51:10

Yes many people are interested in celebrities

vegansrock Sat 07-Mar-20 17:32:07

maddyone of course it is the editors who chose what goes on the front page - not Meghan believe it or not, you might as well say the Corona virus upstaged Camilla. Let’s face it, fewer people are interested in Camilla and what she has to say ( remember when she was the hate figure?). I don’t object to H and M being discussed, it’s the one sided hate and vitriol which isn’t much of a discussion.

Harry is patron of English rugby

Anniebach Sat 07-Mar-20 17:17:16

No cleaner ? She must be so busy

Bridgeit Sat 07-Mar-20 16:59:30

To put it into Perspective
2 permanent employees ( a house manager & a cleaner)
have been moved to other duties, as no longer required at Windsor home, They only had skeleton staff at Frogmore and No One has been made Redundant .

Ellianne Sat 07-Mar-20 16:48:57

Just watching the rugby and the cameras fixed on Boris and Carrie! Normally Harry would be at the rugby to support England but I'm guessing that sort of thing isn't glamorous enough for Meghan so she said no.

merlotgran Sat 07-Mar-20 16:40:16

They've been sticking one up to the British public ever since Archie was born. Nobody was allowed a glimpse of him other than an Instagrammed foot or the top of his head but they took him to Africa where there were no qualms about taking him to visit Desmond Tutu. No complaints about the cameras on that occasion. Brits could go hang.

Then they whinge about how awful life is, sue a couple of newspapers (what happened about that?) and scarper to Canada.

Lets hope they get what they want. Who wouldn't be happy with over £2 million a year from the Bank of Charles, courtesy of hard working plebs and a mega security bill paid for?

Please don't come back.

Jabberwok Sat 07-Mar-20 16:27:49

Perhaps your boss wasn't interested in your children! Foolishly members of the paying public were interested in baby Archie and would have loved to see a few photos of him occasionally as we do with William and Katherine!

Anniebach Sat 07-Mar-20 16:24:28

A case of mutual respect

Summerlove Sat 07-Mar-20 15:55:10

The British public were paying their wages yet they withheld even a little view of their joyful bundle. Why sooo secretive? They could have laid down reporting restrictions as did Wills and Kate.

By this reasoning my boss was owed photos of my children?

How ridiculous

Greymar Sat 07-Mar-20 14:54:42

I suppose re the Camilla and Meghan thing, a person who has free will and access to media can choose which they find interesting to see and listen to. Maybe they like both? Or neither?

maddyone Sat 07-Mar-20 14:54:08

cupafull
Absolutely.

Jabberwok Sat 07-Mar-20 14:49:10

Amen to that cupaffull!

cupaffull Sat 07-Mar-20 14:32:05

Buttonjugs ...'I believe that the press criticism and online hate since Archie was born have driven them to this. ???
What online hate since Archie was born???
The British public were paying their wages yet they withheld even a little view of their joyful bundle. Why sooo secretive? They could have laid down reporting restrictions as did Wills and Kate.
And they flail us with their green credentials yet at every chance slip off to jet abroad.
Do not lecture the British Public, we are perfectly able to do that for ourselves over any number of issues but we won't take it from those that lord above us.

As is pretty evident now, Megan wants to control everything and she couldn't control our press so she threw a tantrum, took her prize Prince and trounced off abroad to ruminate.

She now has Harry exactly where she wants him and henceforth everything they do will be a HUGE marketing exercise for Brand Sussex. She's an actress and hugely media savvy, that explains the Starry photograph. Talk about an egotist! Please GO asap.

maddyone Sat 07-Mar-20 13:46:51

I know Jane, but that’s Meghan isn’t it? She likes to control what’s put out about her. Apparently the beautiful photo of her and Harry under the umbrella, where they are looking at each other was taken by her photographer too. I thought it was a lovely photo until I realised, that like much else in Meghan’s world, it was staged.

Smileless2012 Sat 07-Mar-20 13:44:54

What surprises me Jane is that I'm not surprised!

Jane10 Sat 07-Mar-20 13:34:07

Her own private photographer? Am speechless. angry

‘It would only upstage Camilla if the pictures are printed, people gawp at them and then gossip about them.’

Wrong! The ‘secret’ pictures of Meghan, not Harry, taken at the theatre apparently by her private photographer, were all over the papers and internet. There was coverage of Camilla’s very important speech, but far less so. The editors of newspapers and magazines, and news programmes on television and radio decide what will be on the front pages or what will be headline news, and readers/viewers respond to it.
You don’t object to other news headlines being discussed on Gransnet, why would you object to H+M being discussed?
What you should be annoyed about is an important subject such as domestic abuse, being brought into the public domain by The Duchess of Cornwall, being sidelined by a ‘secret’ visit to a theatre by Meghan, in particular because it appears that she was asked by the royals to please not upstage this important speech from Camilla. Domestic abuse is something we should all be concerned about, and Camilla is doing an important job in bringing it to the forefront of public notice. This is where royals can do good work, and Camilla being upstaged by Meghan (who is of course, younger, prettier, and more fashionable) is not helping abused women anywhere.

I wonder how long it will be before they're in Hello with Archie?

Bagatelle Sat 07-Mar-20 13:07:34

It may not be 'poor stupid Harry' but it's certainly 'poor Harry'. Meghan seems to represent everything he was trying to get away from.

Absolutely correct.
