I am disgusted by the announcement that these two have sacked 15 British members of staff. What are they thinking?
I ask myself 'how would I feel if I'd upped sticks and gone to another country out of loyalty to my employer, only for them to get rid of me 3 months later.
I would be heartbroken and furious.

Excellent article, thanks for posting it merlot.

A really fair and balanced article from Jan Moir. Says it all really.

anniezzz09 that last article is priceless!! ?

Anniebach Fri 06-Mar-20 22:52:03

merlot, it would have remained private but Megan released the photographs

anniezzz09 Fri 06-Mar-20 22:49:42

I think those of you who think the Irish aren't interested in the Royals might be surprised if you looked at some of the Irish media. Just like anywhere, including the UK (!), some are hostile but many find the visits interesting and enjoyable and commentary on Kate's green clothing has been warm.

Etc, some good photos too.

Meanwhile Princess Anne went on the Tube last week to a couple of engagements.

No private train carriage for her.

She seems to get very little official recognition for all her work.

merlotgran Fri 06-Mar-20 22:48:26

I'm confused about the so called secret visit to the London National Theatre when it was announced last week that she'd be going there. It was definitely on the itinerary.

GracesGranMK3 Fri 06-Mar-20 22:45:01

I couldn't agree more Dollymac. It's a sad insight into what is important to Gransnetters.

Anniebach Fri 06-Mar-20 22:44:52

Camilla made an important speech on abuse of women yesterday, the rest of the family were instructed no attention
to take attention from the speech. Megan made a secret visit
to the London National Theatre and release photographs of her ‘private’ visit,

Dollymac Fri 06-Mar-20 22:24:26

Wow, such vitriol, so many comments about someone's appearance
It's tantamount to bullying and I, for one, don't blame them for going, if the comments on here are anything to go by
This has been quite a nasty read

Anniebach Fri 06-Mar-20 21:25:43

Wearing that dress , pouring with rain, a chilly evening, all
set for the cameras.

Sparklefizz Fri 06-Mar-20 19:51:15

the hypocrisy of it all upsets me. Why dress up so glamorously, then cry poor me the nasty media are taking my photo?
I agree Namsnanny .... which is why M was not wearing a coat despite it being chilly ..... and I think that the romantic umbrella shot was posed.
But there you are ..... however, I think Kate is a treasure.

Calendargirl Fri 06-Mar-20 19:22:00

Just taken a look at Catherine’s Irish outfits after reading all the comments. What struck me was in the picture of her in the green evening dress was how much she is starting to look like her mother.

vegansrock Fri 06-Mar-20 19:15:38

Oh gawd they get criticise for dressing glam, criticised for not dressing glam enough....no wonder they want to get away from the poison.

Calendargirl Fri 06-Mar-20 19:13:00

Harry looks quite thin.

Greymar Fri 06-Mar-20 19:10:40

I think Archie will be in a fog for most if not all his life

or he could be a happy little baby, a happy child and a happy and healthy adult.

Namsnanny Fri 06-Mar-20 18:50:23

Oh yes Callistemon, I remember my Gran used to say that to each and everyone of us gchildren.
Along with 'I'll leave it all to you (jewellery/money etc.)' None of us got a thing!

Namsnanny Fri 06-Mar-20 18:42:43

Chewbacca … I agree this is such a classic example of estrangement.

I think Archie will be in a fog for most if not all his life Pinkquartz

Isnt there a saying Maddyone the past predicts the future? Or as you put it a leopard doesn't change it's spots.

Sparklefiz Annibach … the hypocrisy of it all upsets me. Why dress up so glamorously, then cry poor me the nasty media are taking my photo?!!

Callistemon Fri 06-Mar-20 18:40:57

Beatrice and Eugenie are her favourites.

Do you remember Bruce Forsyth - "You're my favourite!"
I expect HM says that to them all in turn.

maddyone Fri 06-Mar-20 18:38:59

I’m often surprised by the rudeness from some posters. Never mind, it takes all sorts.

vegansrock Fri 06-Mar-20 18:33:11

“Widely reported” haha by whom? We still don’t know. Apparently Andrew is her favourite as well.

Greymar Fri 06-Mar-20 18:31:56

pitter patter royal tootsies soon

maddyone Fri 06-Mar-20 18:30:43

vegansrock

It is said that is what was written. It has been widely reported, long before this latest H+M business, that Harry is the Queen’s favourite. Believe it, or don’t, it doesn’t matter to me.

Jabberwok Fri 06-Mar-20 18:27:03

Katherine did not look frumpy or condescending and I don't think that the people of Ireland thought this for a moment. The Queen wore a lot of green when she went to Ireland and no one made derogatory comments about that.

vegansrock Fri 06-Mar-20 18:26:18

This is all so much whaterboutery. We haven’t a clue who the queen’s favourite is or whether she is bothered about Archie etc.
