I'm sure anniebach could enlighten you to how the psychosis is not like baby blues which normally just passes quickly or common PND which needs support but not specialist units. You'll spend a long fruitless time looking for any post of mine which speculates about them unkindly.

Anniebach my parents' neighbour suffered many years ago. It was a terrible time for the woman and her entire family, and incredibly sad to witness, even at a distance. As you rightly say it needs expert treatment in specialist units. Thankfully it is rare, although having suffered once the chances of a repeat illness with subsequent pregnancies is increased.

Exactly Monica, all the privilege and money in the world is no protection against poor mental health or illness.

daughter, I was treated in a psychiatric unit with other women suffering the same, no way can any woman just get on
with it.

suziewoozie PND and post natal psychosis are not uncommon and need diagnosis and treatment.

While PND may be described as "not uncommon" as it includes the "baby blues" but post natal psychosis is rare affecting 1 or 2 in 1000 so should never be lumped in.

Announcements from the Palace always come out in dribs and drabs. Charles and Diana separated with "no plans to divorce" Charles and Camilla had "no plans to marry" There are no plans for Camilla to be Queen when Charles ascends the throne. Any announcements about M&H will likely follow the same path.

Hopefully M&H are enjoying some lovely private family time
and feeling much less stressed.

Sadly I totally agree with you easybee. Prior to his marriage PH seemed a contented happy, very popular man, a great asset to the RF. Since his marriage any/all his problems suddenly seem to have resurrected and overwhelmed him. Surely the support of a loving wife would have been just what a slightly highly strung person would need, as in George V1th and the Queen mother? For Harry it seems to have had the completely opposite effect! So sad!

I wonder if they will attend Beatrice's wedding?

I'm not at all surprised that they have given up their office at Buckingham Palace and let their staff go.

I don't think they will come back to the UK very much at all in the future and I for one am not bothered if they do or not.

The fifteen staff were employed in the Buckingham Palace Office, but the couple apparently no longer require 'a working base and dedicated staff in the UK.' The staff were told last month; some will be reabsorbed into the Royal Household.
The Daily Telegraph said: 'It comes after the Duke and Duchess declined to take advice from within the household, surrounded instead by multiple external advisers, famous and well-connected friends, and private agencies.'

I sincerely hope neither of them ever returns to Britain, but I am sorry for their family, who will be taking on the workload of the increasingly contemptible Prince Harry.

Well he has certainly put all his eggs in one basket now. He has given up the status and life he has known, distanced himself from his family, staff and friends and changed countries. It is a lot to contend with and I hope she is worth it.

Some people don’t just keep going with new borns Not that’s frankly just rubbish and unkind. PND and post natal psychosis are not uncommon and need diagnosis and treatment. It never ceases to amaze me how horrible some posts are on GN re the suffering of others and their arrogant ‘we just got on with it approach’.I think in my mother’s generation and ours, great emotional damage was done to many mothers and their families because they didn’t get the emotional support they needed.

Monica I think Prince Harry has wanted to cut and run for years, he just needed a wife who could stand by him, share his thinking and help facilitate his escape.
If Harry had wanted to 'cut and run' for years then why didn't he do so with the love of his life Chelsy Davy? She didn't want the Royal life, so there was his chance! Clearly what he really wanted was to remain in the Royal family so he let her go....
