Yorkshire Tea boycott

This is one of the most ridiculous things I have heard from so called ”Left Wingers” all over the Internet they are calling for a boycott of Yorkshire Tea after the Chancellor Rishi Sunak was pictured making a pot of tea using Yorkshire Tea Bags.

The political left should have better things to worry about......electing a new leader, forming a front bench to be a credible opposition to the Government and sorting out some policies for a start

Oh for heaven’s sake - tea not tar

Barmeyoldbat Tue 25-Feb-20 13:25:25

I can't stand tea, just hate the taste and the smell makes me heave. So sorry I don't care.

SirChenjin Tue 25-Feb-20 13:25:11

Tea not tat. Although...

SirChenjin Tue 25-Feb-20 13:24:52

Yorkshire Biscuit Tea tastes like tar that’s had a malt biscuit stirred into it shock It’s definitely a love it/loathe it thing.

Rich tea...yes.
Dunking...no!

Pix5 Tue 25-Feb-20 13:19:58

I support Yorkshire tea! I'll go and buy a box now.

GreenGran78 Tue 25-Feb-20 13:18:26

and I HATE soggy dunked biscuits of any kind!

GreenGran78 Tue 25-Feb-20 13:17:16

Don’t tell anyone, or it may start another War of the Roses. (whisper) I drink Yorkshire Tea, and I’m a Lancashire lass.

Yorkshire Biscuit Tea
I've never heard of it, I thought you said it as a joke Nanna58

SirChenjin Tue 25-Feb-20 13:00:03

Yorkshire Biscuit Tea is the work of the devil! envy<- not envy

Aepgirl Tue 25-Feb-20 12:53:50

How ridiculous. I shall just make sure I make more Yorkshire Tea than usual, and let all my friends know. So there!

Callistemon Tue 25-Feb-20 12:52:02

Nanna58 Tue 25-Feb-20 12:51:20

Never! I would die before I give up my beloved Yorkshire Biscuit Tea! ☕️☕️☕️

Callistemon Tue 25-Feb-20 12:49:37

Davidhs well, Dorset Tea is not grown in Dorset either ....
Cornish Tea is not grown in Cornwall, although a specialist tea is grown there.
I don't think that Dorset Tea is even produced in Dorset any longer shock

Callistemon Tue 25-Feb-20 12:44:36

I thought you were going to tell us that it was for ethical reasons .....

Ah well, I can relax and enjoy another brew and by 'eck, Greyduster, no other tea will do!

sluttygran Tue 25-Feb-20 12:40:08

Now we've had Brexit, I don't think we should drink any tea - it's not grown in England, and is NOT acceptable.
We must drink nettle tea with local grown nettles until such time as the British Raj is reestablished.
I hope it will be with that nice Mr Rees-Mogg as Viceroy, and then, only then, can we once again drink tea grown under decent British rule.
BRITISH TEA FOR BRITISH PEOPLE!

Greyduster Tue 25-Feb-20 12:39:58

Personally, as a died in the wool Yorkshire lass, I can’t stand the stuff (only drink Rooibos or Earl Grey), but, by ‘eck!, I will fight to the death for the right of others to stand their spoons up in it!? (including the Chancellor of the Exchequer!).

Sleepygran Tue 25-Feb-20 12:34:56

Nothing will separate me from my Yorkshire tea!

Cambia Tue 25-Feb-20 12:33:48

The best tea in the world! Full disclosure, I am Yorkshire!!
Honestly if I am not fed up of people making problems from little things. Look around the world, Syria, Corona Virus, Poverty and War. If you really want to make a fuss about something choose something that matters!!

BladeAnnie Tue 25-Feb-20 12:27:54

Is that really all they have to worry about......!!! I love a cup of tea but not Yorkshire Tea - even the lovely Sean Bean on the ad couldn't tempt me!!

SillyNanny321 Tue 25-Feb-20 12:26:20

Glad I am the only person in the world who is not on Facebook or Twitter! Have better things to do with my time, like brewing another cup of Yorkshire Tea Lol!!!

trisher Tue 25-Feb-20 12:22:35

Shortlegs are you sure about that? As us Yorkshire lasses know it is God's own county and I'm sure they could grow tea if they wanted to!!!! grin

SirChenjin Tue 25-Feb-20 12:20:24

What do you mean they don’t grow tea in Yorkshire??!

I drink rooibos and vanilla - dunk in a chocolate hobnob and nothing else comes close.

maddyone Tue 25-Feb-20 12:19:26

Shortlegs grinbrew

puppytoe Tue 25-Feb-20 12:18:46

I was more bemused by the size of the teapot the Chancellor was holding . He said he said he was making tea for his team; that teapot would have only have filled three mugs worth
