Yorkshire Tea boycott

This is one of the most ridiculous things I have heard from so called ”Left Wingers” all over the Internet they are calling for a boycott of Yorkshire Tea after the Chancellor Rishi Sunak was pictured making a pot of tea using Yorkshire Tea Bags.

The political left should have better things to worry about......electing a new leader, forming a front bench to be a credible opposition to the Government and sorting out some policies for a start

Fake news. I've been to Yorkshire (just once). Categorically they do not grow tea there.

eroticelder92 Tue 25-Feb-20 11:44:06

Ooh i do love a good cuppa tea.

suziewoozie
And I’m not going back to that thread on DA - feeding the beast.

???? Really? You won’t return, along with others, because you can’t answer the questions raised by POGS because you have no answers apart from admitting that you are very quick to label others racist for criticising an MP who happens to be black but you have no problem, not only criticising, but making personal comments ie “she’s vile” about another MP that’s Indian.

suziewoozie Whatever ticking your post was racist.

Well if you find that racist you, by your own definition, are racist. Your personal attacks on PP are quite vile.

suziewoozie Tue 25-Feb-20 11:28:56

Don’t be disingenuous ticking it was a racist post involving DA and why she supported a particular policy. You also posted that you expected it to be deleted so you posted it provocatively.

suziewoozie Tue 25-Feb-20 11:26:39

And I’m not going back to that thread on DA - feeding the beast.

tickingbird Tue 25-Feb-20 11:26:33

Also my post that was deleted didn’t contain any personal abuse of Dianne Abbott- it was about her constituency. Hardly an attack.

suziewoozie Tue 25-Feb-20 11:25:20

Whatever ticking your post was racist.

tickingbird Tue 25-Feb-20 11:23:09

susiewoozie Well given you post about DA was deleted, I think you should just back off ticking. I’m not going to address your main point because it’s not worth the effort.

Pot kettle? How many posts of yours have been deleted?

Why not answer POGS on the thread about DA? Cat got your tongue?

trisher I can remember one of my Grans used to have Liptons instant lemon tea, I can still conjure up the taste absolutely foul

maddyone Tue 25-Feb-20 11:08:02

Instant tea is dire trisher, I agree. We always have decaf tea in as two of our adult children drink it, the other dispenses with the tea altogether and just drinks water. But I prefer tea, with it’s caffeine.

trisher Tue 25-Feb-20 11:03:59

The only thing worse than that is instant tea GG13! It so eclipses my weak tea! grin

suziewoozie Tue 25-Feb-20 10:58:13

De caff tea? GG. <faints>

suziewoozie Tue 25-Feb-20 10:57:42

Well given you post about DA was deleted, I think you should just back off ticking. I’m not going to address your main point because it’s not worth the effort.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 25-Feb-20 10:56:25

I am obviously a total heathen as I only drink de-caff grin

tickingbird Tue 25-Feb-20 10:54:10

suziewoozie It’s not OK for anyone to abuse Yorkshire Tea but then look at the level of abuse and vile comments thrown around on GN to DA, MM, TB As a forum we’ve nothing to feel proud about.

Don’t forget Priti Patel!

trisher Tue 25-Feb-20 10:53:24

I'm not sure I can enter this discussion, my tea is so weak my DS considers me a waste of a tea bag! And (horrors) I have recently developed a taste for chai- Indian spicy tea. Not certain where that stands on the political spectrum!!! hmm

GrannyGravy13 Tue 25-Feb-20 10:51:28

Oopsminty Yorkshire Tea released a statement regarding the picture with Jeremy Corbyn will try to find link.

gillybob Tue 25-Feb-20 10:50:28

youtu.be/8cipMoGKXGE

I love Yorkshire Tea and wouldn’t buy anything else . I also love Sean Bean so its a win win situation smile

suziewoozie Tue 25-Feb-20 10:50:23

GG I wonder these days what does have a good influence on politics? I’m not disagreeing with you but making the point that the political landscape and much within it is toxic. And GN is a microcosm of this so we’ve no laurels to rest on.

SirChenjin Tue 25-Feb-20 10:49:19

I know that Smileless - I was merely pointing out it’s nothing to do with the political left, it’s simply noise on Twitter than can come from any number of sources.

SirChenjin Tue 25-Feb-20 10:47:14

Well, if they have ‘Labour supporter’ on their Twitter bio it must be true wink

I’m glad we can agree that it’s got nothing to do with the political left and that it’s nothing more than nonsense on Twitter.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 25-Feb-20 10:46:30

Not sure that SM has had a good impact on politics whoever you support. (I have just turned on This Morning and it is being discussed) grin

NotSpaghetti Tue 25-Feb-20 10:46:00

I'm another loose leaf tea person... and must be a leftie as Yorkshire Tea is too strong and punchy for me! Lol.

Smileless2012 Tue 25-Feb-20 10:44:34

Yes I realise that SirChenjin I was merely pointing out to suziewoozie that it wasn't about "abusing Yorkshire tea".
