I thought this pretty much sums brexit up

Brexit is circular insanity. But it’s also steeped in vindictiveness. There’s a callous disregard for the harm it does to others. There’s a desperate wish for the EU to fail. There’s such a meanness to it, you’d be ashamed of it by now..... if you were a decent person.

The Russians find us useful for that already.

And the tories are still polling ahead of Labour.

Not by a lot though 2% last time I looked and that has dropped from 25% in April, so I do think people are beginning to understand how much competence matters and how little if any there is in this government.

I'm shocked that this govt is so arrogant that it hasn't bothered to cover up the contract handed out to friends and family. They must be aware that an increasing number of the population know about these but they just don't give a toss.

Well, Johnson has said that there will be no border down the middle of the Irish Sea, so that can only mean a border between north and south doesnt it?

But I thought that was against international law?

I suspect that in practice NI will remain in the EU a bit? and there will have to be a border of sorts between us and them, which will drive the unionists mad.

Will there be customs restrictions between NI and the Republic? If not, will there be checks between NI and and UK? If neither, what's to stop smuggling between the Republic and the UK?

Of course it is Barnier's fault, and the EU, that the UK has renaged on the basic terms negotiated and agreed, and voted upon - with Johnson at the helm - slightly worse than Mrs May's terms - but he said it was the best since sliced bread, or something. The UK has been shown and proven to be totally untrustworthy and totally 2 faced. So Cummings and co better not try that one- and the DM and Express should know better. We will not buy their rubbish.

I know some people do not set a lot of store by polls, but I thought I'd check out the many Brexit poll questions collated by an independent organisation.

Since May 2017, in answer to the question or similar "Would you vote to stay in the EU or leave", the stats show a preference to remain in the EU. The percentages vary a little but I could not see anywhere that the leave number rose higher than the remain number. So 3 years later, we're still having to go through something that will not bring any benefits to the ordinary citizen and so many do not want.

Please don't quote "That's Democracy" to me. This isn't an general election where we can rethink and change our vote now 4 years have passed.

What has been shown is the utter incompetence of this Tory government to do anything other than feather their and their friends nests after getting rid of the more moderate conservatives.

Also, don't tell me the Tories got a majority in the election. What you're forgetting is the number of votes cast against them was larger than the number for them.

Sometimes, the best thing to do to stop a really bad situation becoming a disaster is to admit the decision was a mistake and try to limit the fallout. I won't hold my breath.

The Daily Express has gone from 'No-Deal Brexit will make your life better', to 'No-Deal Brexit would be fine', to 'No-Deal Brexit would be the EU's fault'.
