BBC Licence Fees

I just looked it up on Money Saving Expert:

If you don't watch or record live TV or BBC iPlayer and only use other catch-up services or streaming services, you may not need a TV licence at all.

TV licences are only needed to watch or record TV at the same time as it's broadcast, or to watch the iPlayer.

So watching catch-up or on-demand TV using services such as Netflix, Amazon or Now TV, or catch-up services such as All 4 or the ITV Hub, doesn't require a TV licence.

The exceptions are if you're watching the iPlayer, or using other catch-up services to watch live TV.

The point about Diversity is that the best person has NEVER been the criteria for the job. The main criteria has been being a white male, as many high flying white women have found out.

I don’t think you can simply stop paying the licence fee and say you aren’t watching the BBC. If you have a tv , or any piece of tech that can play tv, it will be assumed that you can/ are accessing the BBC whether to watch live tv or iPlayer. You will need to take legal advice on this.

The BBC is scrapping the free license fee for over 75’s yet has committed to spending £100 million on diversity.

Auntie has decided it is more important to be woke than to subsidise the many pensioners that struggle to pay their licence or to produce quality television.

They wish to reach a quota of BAME, LGBTQI and disabled staff.
This is admirable but what happened to being recruited because you are the best person for the job?

We have decided we will not renew our licence later this year.
