This is actually only the last 5 days. Hard to find any way this corruption and lies could be justified.

Dominic Cummings has just taken charge of all government data. What could possibly go wrong?“ but but but but we will be getting rid of unelected bureaucrats when we leave the EU surely?

Ha! you’d think wouldn’t you?

How secure is it, given Cummings relationship with Russia?

Hasn't the power to vet people just gone to Gove?

Who'll take a bet on the next high security pass going to a Russian...?

MaizieD Thu 23-Jul-20 21:47:52

They think we're making it all up because we're bitter remainers, Drum

I actually never expected to see that trope resurrected, now that we've left, and all that, but Borisovich did in PMQs yesterday and now it's in fashion again grin

Drum1234 Thu 23-Jul-20 21:27:24

Finally, a thread about the government's corruption, incompetence and sheer laziness with no Tory apologists (yet!).

varian Thu 23-Jul-20 19:59:42

Cummings relationship with Russia may well be what this is all about. Talk about turkeys voting for xmas!!!!

Cummings still in pursuit of total domination

Let’s face it, apologists for this government don’t care about lies and corruption because they won! Get over it! Makes me sick .

GillT57 Thu 23-Jul-20 17:51:07

I feel the same luckygirl, in my constituency we have a time serving Brexit supporter, and I fear that many here would vote for a goat wearing a blue rosette. It is beyond making me angry now, it makes me laugh, it is all so bloody ridiculous. There are not even attempts to cover up the corruption and money swishing into friendly bank accounts, it is evident that the government have decided that we, the electorate, are stupid, or don't care, or are not interested, and to be fair, going by the lack of ire on GN, or even worse, the pathetic attempts to defend the indefensible, they are probably right.

Luckygirl Thu 23-Jul-20 13:15:49

I feel I need a lie down now. And nothing - just nothing - we can do.

I feel sickened every time I look at how our local MP has voted - he would not have been an MP if we did not have the first past the post voting system - more people voted against rather than for him. He is an arse-licker - Boris must have the cleanest arse in the whole world.

“Dido” Harding, Baroness Harding of Winscombe is an English businesswoman. She is chairwoman of NHS Improvement and former chief executive of the TalkTalk Group. She holds a board position at the Jockey Club (which is responsible for several major events including the Cheltenham Festival), and from May 2020 is in charge of the UK's Test and Trace programme.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dido Harding

I don't suppose that her membership of the Board of the Jockey Club had anything to do with the disastrous decision not to cancel the 2020 Cheltenham Festival which opened on 10 March with at least 60,000 racegoers in attendance each afternoon, while 68,500 were at the track to see the Cheltenham Gold Cup on 13 March – four days before Boris Johnson announced extensive UK-wide lockdown measures.

Everything is now up for sale

Thank you Drum and Maisie, I really appreciate the complication.
Well done Russ.

I am especially aggrieved at the lack of news coverage about the Govt’s failure to protect the NHS from being sold, the failure to protect food and agriculture standards post Brexit and for voting to exclude Parliamentary oversight of trade deals.

Then I find I am aggrieved about almost everything about this Government and the (very partial) news coverage of its activities.

I think that #47 is a bit of an eye opener. Where did the money come from...?

It has been reported that the oligarchs are totally dependent on Putin, as he holds all the purse strings.

So I suppose you could say that Putin is funding the Tory party.

MaizieD Thu 23-Jul-20 08:10:54

I didn't do it, David. I copied and pasted the tweets from the link that Drum posted because I know that some people don't like to follow links. Can't take any credit...

It is all accurate. It's a roundup of the news. Russ does one every week.

It's a bit shocking when seen like this, isn't it? ?

Whitewavemark2 Thu 23-Jul-20 07:43:38

Today’s news headline in Guardian.

Government’s track and trace system failing to alert thousands of people in the high infection areas

“It is an utter shambles”

vegansrock Thu 23-Jul-20 07:37:03

In Today’s news - uk hopelessly prepared for economic impact of a pandemic - cross party committee of MPs. Giveaways made up on the hoof left whole sectors unsupported.

Davidhs Thu 23-Jul-20 07:28:53

How do you do it Mazie, wether it’s all accurate I’ve no idea but well done. It sums up my opinion of our government.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 23-Jul-20 06:28:50

Government warned against investing in a bankrupt satellite supplier, but ignored the warnings from the civil service

The Tories will have their job cut out.

I suppose that’s the next disaster we can add to the list.

The break up of the Union. I wonder how they will sell that one?
