Where's the P.M.? Shouldn't he be in view, not hiding away ?

Look at the disruptions of recent days;
Exam results and fudged response from Education secretary , passing the buck, stretching the truth about when he really knew about the algorithm,

increase in covid figures
;
Migrants in small boats and Patel's response,

News of contract to work on Ofqual awarded to long term associates of Gove and Cummings without tender.

Not removing whip from MP accused of rape.

So it goes on .Surely a P.M worth his salt should give the nation the impression he is in charge. As usual Johnson is nowhere to be seen.

Some headlines say they are glamping in Scotland, but if they are glamping, they are not in that sagging ex-boy scout tent that the photos show. Glamping is glamorous camping.
Like these. www.pitchup.com/glamping/Scotland/

Did Churchill take 4 weeks holidays during the war?
Maybe not biba, but when you do the tour of the Houses of Parliament they tell you that Churchill kept a bed there so he could have frequent naps during the day!

The PM is not just another worker- but has the welfare of the country in his hands, and us all too.

I’ve tried to resist these threads recently as often there are posts which I query, ask for more explanation, but get no answer and it’s very frustrating!
I would never say all Lib Dem or labour leaders were perfect but there are those (in my own extended family too) who seem to refuse to accept any fault in the current government.
Another example is nicola sturgeon , whose politics might not necessarily suit my views(not sure) but whose conduct has impressed me hugely in the last few months.

That’s what I would expect of some posters .....but not Lucca.

I’m a bit confused. I thought we were talking about jibes about Johnson’ physical appearance.
But thank you I think ?

Ellianne Fri 21-Aug-20 11:45:38

I think it has already been said that personal appearance comments were strictly light hearted.
Well said Lucca. I think the title of the thread did leave the way open for some amusing posts.
Where's Wally? is a good example Trisher.

Oh dear, touch a nerve?!! Not if you're the PM quizqueen! No,correction, THIS P.M! Does it really matter, or indeed the business of anyone on here what Boris's holiday arrangements are, with or without baby Wilfred? Oh dear Grandad, and there was me thinking you were above cheap jibes. Even your own elected leader! How sad is that!

Every full time worker is entitled to 4 weeks paid holiday.

With the emphasis on full time worker

At that rate Johnson is probably entitled to a couple of hours.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 21-Aug-20 11:21:38

This has been one of the most disastrous weeks ever for this government. I would have thought that whether Johnson is in Scotland, Greece or Timbucktu, it matters not a jot.

What matters is that the project destruction devised by Cummings with Johnson’s and Gove’s assistance means that our country is falling apart as we fiddle.

trisher Fri 21-Aug-20 11:19:41

It had to happen "Where's Wally" creator comes out of retirement to crate a "Where's Boris" book catmelodeonnews.com/wheres-wally-books-to-produce-a-boris-edition/

Grandad1943 Fri 21-Aug-20 11:18:51

Undoubtedly both Johnson and Starmer have gone missing due to so much doom and gloom being expressed on social media.

Rumour is that they have both entered a monastery to seek divine guidance out of all their problems. However, with Johnsons passed record in regard to his love women it is just as likely he has entered a nunnery. ??

Grany Fri 21-Aug-20 11:14:24

Some really funny comments Where is the PM ha very amusing but really in fact sad as this is what we have as a PM in these unpresidented troubled times.

I can't understand the Tory voters on GN defending him with all the evidence of his mismanagement, lies daily, and his corrupt cabinet

growstuff Fri 21-Aug-20 10:55:11

Ignore the characters and mysteries about where Johnson is on holiday and take a look at what's going on in government.

Parsley3 Fri 21-Aug-20 10:54:31

It would have been a nice gesture for the PM to take time out from his holiday/paternity leave in Scotland/Greece to express sympathy and encouragement for the students who have been upset by the exam results debacle. Some of these youngsters would remember his concern and vote Conservative. A missed opportunity there. Boris spotting is fast becoming a national sport.

maddyone Fri 21-Aug-20 10:49:53

jaylucy
I agree with you.

jaylucy Fri 21-Aug-20 10:45:50

I may not think much of the man, but he is still entitled to a holiday! He may well still be suffering from the after effects from his bout of Covid.
Quite honestly, when all is said and done , he is just a figurehead and has a plethora of people in the background that are the actual ones that decide on policy etc.
Quite honestly I would rather take advice from the scientific people that actually have the knowledge. At least anybody other than that reptilian Cummings!

maddyone Fri 21-Aug-20 10:45:12

I thought they were staying in a cottage in Scotland, with a tent nearby. There was always a picture released of Theresa May and husband walking in Wales or Switzerland, and of David Cameron and family in Cornwall. Can’t remember about any other PMs, but the destination of Tony Blair and family was always released. Perhaps one photograph of BJ and Carrie and baby would have quelled the speculation about the destination. However, perhaps Carrie wants to protect her baby’s privacy as only two pictures of him have been released, and only showing the back of his head.

Have you checked your fridge?

vegansrock Fri 21-Aug-20 10:40:33

The tent is supposed to be in the garden of the rented cottage. Why would anyone stay in a tent when they have a rented cottage, particularly given the Scottish weather at the moment? Maybe it’s for the security personnel and a photo op.

lemongrove Fri 21-Aug-20 10:39:11

It’s amazing how many on here enjoy the Daily Mail.

growstuff Fri 21-Aug-20 10:37:42

I looked at the article and picture in the Daily Mail. I know that I wouldn't spend a night in that tent. Anybody who has ever camped on a hill knows it's a very silly idea.

It looks like a dead cat.

grannyrebel7 Fri 21-Aug-20 10:37:14

The Loch Ness monster has been spotted more times recently than Boris smile! In all seriousness though he's a pathetic excuse for a P.M. Our country is falling apart at the seams and we deserve better leadership than we are currently receiving.
