Chewbacca

In a L'Occitan Christmas Advent Calendar there was a tiny little yellow pot of their Immortelle Divine Cream. It was very nice and, if I had enough money to waste splash out on such things, I think I'd be tempted to give that one a proper go. But I don't, So it's Aldi's again.

I got a pot of that in a L'Occitane gift bag.
It is lovely.

In those immortal Yorkshire words:
'*OW * much' shock

Anniebach Thu 01-Oct-20 14:40:55

Can they talk , on and on and on .

Jaberwok Thu 01-Oct-20 14:37:48

Paddyanne, while you are perfectly at liberty to express your dislike bordering on hatred for all things english, which you make crystal clear at every opportunity, why is it that you always do it using insulting, bordering on abusive language? I don't care for your government or the SNP at Westminster and will be very glad if the day comes when they are no longer there, the sooner the better! But I would balk at using unpleasant language to describe these unwanted people! Do you really wonder that half the time people on here just ignore your distasteful posts?

They're at it again in a new video interview with another newspaper. I watched a few minutes but for me Harry once again lost the plot. I find his current attitude to Britain and the British quite insulting. Does he think we all go round with our eyes closed on important issues here?

The president of Ireland was a politician until becoming president, he was president of the Labour Party.
he said he would only stand for one term but changed his mind and stayed for a second term. He was endorsed by the Hollywood actor Martin Sheen

This is beginning to look like bullying..... a bit like what some folks think is happening to Sussexes, pick, pick, pick......

From whom to whom ?

Grany Thu 01-Oct-20 07:32:46

The Irish president meets Heads of State do all presidential things, he works in the interests of the Irish people, He is not publicised like the RF are just to keep them relevant and talked about so people are fooled into thinking we need them.

When in fact RF don't bring in tourists they don't work hard
Queen can't stop government from doing what they want.

So have to ask yourself what is the point in Britiain having a RM?

All the RF have many houses all paid for or heavily subsidised by tax payer and RAF cost much much more than an elected Head of State would. But it's not just the money, though it's a a huge amount it's the principle. RF are corrupt spending public money as if it's their own day in day out and making sure tailored to their own interests.

Grany

We would not have a Head of State like the USA or France GrannyGravy13 it would be something like Ireland

You've mentioned that previously, Grany

I say again - does anyone in the world know who this is?
Does anyone care? Apart from the Irish, of course.

Anniebach Wed 30-Sept-20 20:56:54

They have a vote for president in Ireland.

Johnson, Cameron - vote

Having seen the so called first debate in the run up to the election for the President of the USA it has made me certain more than ever that the UK should retain its Monarchy (albeit slimmed down)

There is no discussion on these threads.

annep1 Wed 30-Sept-20 18:10:15

Questions aren't allowed Anniebach.

Anniebach Wed 30-Sept-20 18:06:26

‘A bit pathetic’. annepl can you still not see why some choose not to have a discussion with you ?

annep1 Wed 30-Sept-20 17:30:33

Some people just want to stir things.
Royalists aren't interested in facts from those who don't support their views.
Challenges which they can't answer are ignored.
No one can even admit "yes it's very unfair that our queen - whom we pay for - shops from the best food shops with our money whilst others are starving.
I find it a bit pathetic.

sparklingsilver28 Wed 30-Sept-20 17:02:37

I confess! The good old DM my source of gossip - and a good laugh when hidden between the pages of "The Times".

Ok so I’m not being given an answer to a perfectly polite question. “It’s not a quiz show” Sorry but I think that is ridiculous. Surely GN is all about discussion which is more than just a series of posts by those who all think the same?
Annep1. As I’ve suspected before this is a kind of closed thread and only those who agree should really be on it.

I have no views on republics or otherwise I simply asked what a poster meant by saying the queen would do what was best for the country and the commonwealth.

Anniebach Wed 30-Sept-20 16:16:05

And the poster who agrees the Queen and her family are parasites wants a discussion with those who do not want a republic ?

Very true Paddyanne. I do despair sometimes that people can't see this, or choose to ignore the facts.

Despair away.

I'll listen to true facts but not prejudices.

paddyanne Wed 30-Sept-20 14:18:31

annepl there is no answer its the usual nonsense about her "serving her county" when in fact the onlt people wo she "serves" are her parasitic family. She reigns over a house of greed and entitlement .Sadly there are those on here who believe the publicity .

Summerlove Wed 30-Sept-20 13:41:17

Does she not remember the hissy fit Harry threw before they were married because of negative press reports about their relationship? This was before most of us even knew who she was.

But that was a fit Harry threw. Not Meghan.
