Please leave the political comments to Meghan.

Just keep it zipped

If it’s true. When the Queen was in Balmoral this summer members of her family visited at different times.

I doubt they are all going to gather in Sandringham as they have always done. Think of the numbers in the immediate family, the Cambridge’s x 5. Anne x 6 or 10, Wessex’s x 4,
Andrew x ?, Charles and Camilla .

Just because we read it doesn't mean we have to believe it, Illte grin

Do you mean that article in the Daily Mail?

The one that had "furious" in inverted commas as said by an unspecified "insider".

In other words totally made up but with journalistic devices.

Still if you print it, add oneone will believe it?

I read about the Queen this morning and IF it is true, why should other people have to sacrifice their families and their Christmas for her and her family not to have their fun spoiled?

Callistemon Tue 29-Sept-20 11:10:50

Scrambled egg saucepans are worse than porridge saucepans, Lexisgranny.
So I may try that at lunch-time.

Anyway, Hold on to your hats, folks. There's trouble at t'mill!

Eeh up, there's trouble in the ranks!

I bet Catherine could baste her own turkey though.
I hope no-one would expect their 94 year old granny to do the catering for them.

I hear that M&S do very acceptable ready meals.
Popty Ping.

Whether Catherine would be willing to cook for the whole Windsor tribe is another matter though.

At least there’ll be 3 fewer than past Christmasses though.

Lexisgranny Tue 29-Sept-20 10:59:07

Also a favourite Callistemon I can recommend them!

Callistemon Tue 29-Sept-20 10:56:46

I might try scrambled eggs in my Popty Ping Lexisgranny!

Lexisgranny Tue 29-Sept-20 10:55:35

Where would we be without Popty Pings Callistemon? Too many yucky porridge saucepans for me for a start!

Well, We’re all in this together of course, so perhaps HM will have to re jig her Christmas plans.

If the Royal Family could be seen to be making concessions and sacrifices re the Covid situation, it might seem so much fairer to the rest of the population.

Let’s face it, HM will hardly be basting her own turkey, wherever she spends the festive season.

Thanks Grany, that makes more sense.

Grany Tue 29-Sept-20 09:49:26

annepl was making a statement about gross inequality between the rich RF and the poorest in U.K. It was about public tax funded RF and agree others who too are rich but not state funded So to compare other rich people to RF is missing the point. So can't compare as not relevant to the argument about RF funded and poor struggling. If you get what I am saying.

Such glee

merlotgran Tue 29-Sept-20 09:42:32

Apparently, Megxit, The Movie, will contain sensational home footage recorded during their departure from the RF!

There could be more than a smidgeon of truth in this because Netflix won't want a wishy washy docu-soap.

He who pays the piper, calls the tune.

trisher Tue 29-Sept-20 09:39:31

There have also been numerous programmes about the RF from documentaries to dramas, why there shouldn't be a musical about Diana's life I don't know. We have musicals about Judy Garland and Edith Piaf, why is Diana different?
And linking H&M with it because they have a Netflix deal is a bit like saying I can't be a vegetarian if I shop at Sainsbury's because they sell meat. There is no connection.

Ellianne Tue 29-Sept-20 09:15:01

I don't think summerlove was twisting anything by mentioning today's global world and its relevance. Where royalty, particularly British royalty is concerned, the main players have always been on the front pages of many a newspaper and magazine. I remember Paris Match was full of stories of Princess Anne and subsequently Diana, Fergie etc

annep1 Tue 29-Sept-20 08:56:11

Summerlove I know we are all connected. I'm not stupid. You are twisting what I said. Or perhaps you didn't understand.

Apparently they have denied they are going to be involved in a reality show, so who knows ......

Also from the same DT column
A spokesman has informed Hello! magazine that “the Duke and Duchess are not taking part in any reality shows”. Then again, they categorically denied a move to America. The idea that their show will, in fact, be a “docu-series” only brings on another bout of hysterical laughter.

Jaberwok Tue 29-Sept-20 08:07:53

Money speaks all languages! I agree with your Grandad Janipat, these two will certainly do as he suggested!!!!!

This is classic!
From Celia Walden’s column in today’s DT
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry “have agreed to star in a fly-on-the-wall Netflix reality series, with cameras following them for three months”. Like you, I had to read the headline twice. Because, yes, this is the same couple who moved 5,462 miles away to escape the “public interest” and “media intrusion” that violated their “right to privacy”

Yes, these are the same two who decided to “step back” from the limelight and create “space” for themselves by carving out an “independent” and “progressive new role” in Hollywood – that go-to city for discreet people who live in fear of being “commoditised”
You couldn’t make it up!

The world is a different place to how it was back in early January, when H&M were contemplating their new ‘non royal, but still a sort of cherry-picked royal role’.

It is maybe finally dawning on them that they really will have to set to and earn their own money.

I am sure that all this is not what Harry had in mind when he (or Meghan obviously) decided to take the plunge into ‘real’ life.
