It's all to do with enabling some people to make vast amounts of money at the expense of others.
Until we have a government (of any political persuasion) which works for the good of all then sadly these situations will continue. At the moment money is god and everything that is decided is based on that premise.
Yes, it does seem to be seen as perfectly o.k. for a small number of people to have more money than they can ever spend, which is therefore of no use to anybody, while other people have to go to food banks. The small number of rich have a lot of admirers while the larger number of poor get made into poverty porn targets and blamed for their own misfortune. Who has been the most useful during this pandemic though? The hedge fund manager or the delivery driver?
