It is happening so quickly, that is why I find it so worrying.
We live near a tidal river that we have been walking regularly for say 25 years now. When we first walked it, it used to flood 2-3 times a year at the spring high tides, now it is a least monthly. So in a very short period we have been able to see the effect of global warming.
The EA have built flood defences within the past 3 years, but DS has said that they will be breached sooner than assumed because of the sea rise levels rising quicker than originally modelled.
The existing flood defences have not been maintained as they should have been, as the government has chosen to spend headline grabbing finances on new flood defences, rather than spending it on maintenance.
