Obviously, the Oprah interview with the Sussexes.

I will because I want to hear it straight from the source rather than media spin/interpretation so that I can comment later on what I saw and heard, when discussions start up as they surely will.

However, I don’t think they should be doing an interview at all (I felt the same about Diana and Charles interviews) these things end up backfiring against them.

For a couple that want privacy they sold out big time. I don’t give them long as a couple, married less than 3 years. Good they live in America.

Smileless2012 Mon 08-Mar-21 15:03:28

I've googled in various ways to try and find out where the story came from that Meghan made Kate cry and all that comes up are M's claims that K made her cryconfused.

We can all imagine a little spat with your sister in law about tights or whatever. Both women would naturally be upset and cry a bit. Kate felt uncomfortable and sent flowers to make amends. What and why would you bring that up?

Because up to now it has been widely said it was Meghan who “made Kate cry”

I haven’t read this whole thread but I’d like to put my twopenn’orth in. I don’t particularly like Meghan from what I’ve seen of her but nothing racist.

I thought Harry was great, felt very sorry for him, the poor motherless child etc etc. He grew up, looked to be having fun and enjoying life and then, to my mind, it’s a shame but he married an older divorced American actress who had no idea what she was getting into.

Harry said he’d warned her about the protocol, hierarchy and restrictions but she said “I’m going to hit the ground running”. I think she thought she could revolutionise the RF, bring it up to date, be encouraged to change things, she didn’t have the background knowledge of how the firm worked.

Meghan is an actress, she is acting most of the time, don’t be fooled by the doe eyes, etc. I bet a lot of us know someone who can turn on the waterworks and people fall for it all.

We can all imagine a little spat with your sister in law about tights or whatever. Both women would naturally be upset and cry a bit. Kate felt uncomfortable and sent flowers to make amends. What and why would you bring that up?

Ditto the remark about how dark Archie’s skin would be. I speculated about that, I bet most of us did. So what? Need there be so much angst and horror about that? It’s not unusual to ponder that, is it? I don’t like that it’s become a racist issue with strong opinions for and against.

I feel sorry for Harry as I imagine it’s might not end well but I do hope he’s happy.

Gagajo “ And as for Kate. You all believed the rumours when it was believed that Meghan made Kate cry. But disbelieve it when it is said that Kate made Meghan cry. ”

I’d be interested to hear why!

Polarbear2 Mon 08-Mar-21 14:25:21

Brilliant film ?. I won’t be watching M&H. I’m not that interested. I hope they find peace.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 08-Mar-21 14:23:27

Brilliant film Varian ???

MerylStreep Mon 08-Mar-21 14:22:50

Varian
Your right. A-may-zing film. You couldn’t believe it actually happened, could you?

varian Mon 08-Mar-21 14:14:56

For the many who won't watch it or just might because there isn't anything else on, I recomend the film "Hidden Figures" which tells the amazing story of three American women without whom the moon landing would not have been achieved in 1969.

It will be on at the same time -9 pm tonight on Film 4.

maddyone Mon 08-Mar-21 14:00:02

Meryl Ha ha, you’re right, she can’t be that good an actress can she? As you say, people have certainly seen through her.

Smileless2012 Mon 08-Mar-21 13:59:46

It's M&H who have made the unsubstantiated claims therefore leading to unsubstantiated assumptions GrannyGravy.

I wonder if someone will ever claim that "don't get into a car when the driver's been drinking and wear a seat belt" was Archie's first sentence cornishpatsy

Bridgeit Mon 08-Mar-21 13:59:43

Or we could all stop speculating , but we have been dangled a carrot & I for one am being enticed by it ??

maddyone Mon 08-Mar-21 13:57:52

GrannyGravy, I don’t think they intended to clear the air. If they wanted to clear the air, they would have spoken to the family. Families resolve differences by speaking together, not by taking part in an ‘interview’ designed to be seen by the entire world.

MerylStreep Mon 08-Mar-21 13:56:51

maddyone

I won’t be watching, I don’t want to watch someone playing the victim. From the clips I’ve seen, I have to say, I didn’t realise she was such a good actress.

Not that good an actress. People have seen through her.?

Rosie51 Mon 08-Mar-21 13:54:05

And that's what is so despicable about the part revelation, the smear hangs over the whole family. GagaJo made her educated guess it was Philip and I assume she was not alone in that leap, but it was wrong. Will the next person to be a suspect get cleared by Harry if they're innocent? If you're not prepared to name the guilty party then it should have been kept private. It's just so unfair to everyone but the guilty party.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 08-Mar-21 13:50:13

Unfortunately in trying to clear the air and put their side of the story they have enabled the media and many others to continue to make unsubstantiated assumptions.

Bridgeit Mon 08-Mar-21 13:48:01

It’s all so very sad isn’t it.

Pantglas2 Mon 08-Mar-21 13:47:40

So much for your ‘educated’ guess GagaJo?

Maggiemaybe Mon 08-Mar-21 13:47:06

And Oprah has confirmed it too, Bridgeit. So the gossips can train their sights on a new target now.

Bridgeit Mon 08-Mar-21 13:39:10

News Flash, just announced that Prince Harry has clarified that neither the Queen or Prince Philip were the ones who made the/a comment about what colour his & Meghans’s baby might be.

FannyCornforth Mon 08-Mar-21 12:56:54

Calendargirl ah yes, I see what you mean. We seem to be talking at cross purposes re the US and the UK. smile

Calendargirl Mon 08-Mar-21 12:54:42

FannyCornforth

Calendargirl 'not much of a hoo ha'?
Don't you believe it!
We ain't seen nothing yet!

Surely now they are in USA, the new baby’s birth won’t attract as much attention back in the UK as Archie’s did though?

Will the Palace still make an announcement about it now they are no longer working royals?

I assume H&M will settle for a very private home birth this time.

cornishpatsy Mon 08-Mar-21 12:24:03

There are people tweeting that Diana is "speaking through Archie" because he says "drive safe".

Presumably, that means, don't get into a car when the driver has been drinking and wear a seat belt.

NellG Mon 08-Mar-21 12:11:08

No it wasn't ranty Gagajo, I'm just interested in the different viewpoints and what underpins them. I didn't think it was aimed specifically at me, so no worries.

Polarbear2 Mon 08-Mar-21 11:41:53

Smileless. Tickingbird. Watch it. It’s genuine. And to me it’s just an example of the people they bring onto our tv every night to give their ‘expert’ opinions when they know nothing - they just speculate and a large % of the viewing public believe it.
