Obviously, the Oprah interview with the Sussexes.
I will because I want to hear it straight from the source rather than media spin/interpretation so that I can comment later on what I saw and heard, when discussions start up as they surely will.
However, I don’t think they should be doing an interview at all (I felt the same about Diana and Charles interviews) these things end up backfiring against them.
Doria has three siblings, not one invited to the wedding
The thing is if we can't "know" Meghan's imperatives and motives, we can't know her sister's either. The sister's "truth" is as valid as anyone else's surely?
If when hearing that "truth" some of us make negative judgments about Samantha/Meghan/other people in similar situations, then it's no different to anyone making negative judgments and assumptions about anyone else. Just people judging people judging people.
It's not clean, whoever it comes from and whoever it's directed at.
Yes we haven’t had a peep from Doria - I wonder which of her parents Meghan takes after......oh wait?♀️
GNW. Her sister has just published a book. I would recommend the review of it in The Spectator a couple of weeks ago.
This would be the same sister who is estranged from her own 3 children would it? Isn't it a bit odd for someone with her history to criticise a different family split.
One person I have great respect for is Meghan's mother and her family. She's resisted all temptation to get involved. With a mother like that M must have some very real, deep seated values.
Her sister must have been hurt by the treatment of their father
I saw the brief clip of her father on the news maddyone. I was thinking more of her outspoken sister Samantha and her family. She appeared a few times on ITV around the time of the wedding and appeared to harbour bitter resentment and was eager to tell her side of the story.
I agree Monica , good post.
Monica Absolutely.
I didn’t see it Grannynannywanny but apparently Thomas Markle was interviewed by one of the morning programmes either yesterday or the day before.
I don’t doubt she has mental issues. She must have to behave the way she does.
I think they’ve opened up a very large can of worms by doing this interview. It wouldn’t surprise me if Meghan’s estranged family are the next to be interviewed to tell their side of the story.
M0nica Yep.
Prince Harry is a grown man, well past childhood, callow youth and with the experience of service life at the cutting edge. Service he was commended for. He should by now have the maturity to recognise and can well afford to commission and pay for any help he needs.
I come from an army family and have worked with an army charity helping serving and exservicemen and I have personal experience of the deficiencies of the army in dealing with mental welfare.
Before his marriage Prince Harry seemed to be carving out a very distinct role for himself in the RF through his practical and hands on work with the Invictus Games and at Sentebale. I am sure that would have continued to develop this practical involvement with other causes and charities, had he not withdrawn into private life.
Whether the Sussexes were paid for their appearance on Oprah or not, it is all part of a carefully planned publicity campaigned to help them make an income out of their only asset, their connection to the RF.
If they were really seeking a private life, then they would have avoided an interview like this like the plague. The Duchess would probably return to her career as an actress and the Duke could continue to develop his charity work as he did it before, quietly and effectively.
It is their hypocrisy, leaving the RF for a private life, then moving to California and La-La-land, the biggest goldfish bowl in the world to pursue a working life based entirely on exploiting their relationship to the RF.
I liked Princess Anne's lounge
It is true though, there are lots of country estates in boring, untrendy counties which are lived in by wealthy old money who walk around the village or ride their ponies and even go to the village pub and more or less left alone.
^ and then it is made clear that this private life is for sale to the highest media bidder.^ M0nica you do know they were not paid for this interview don't you?
As for Prince Harry and the army it is well known that the structure and discpline involved in army life attracts people who have had disturbing life events. It helps them to get through. Unfortunately after they leave others can finish up on the streets as their mental health problems multiply. H has the financial assets to stop this happening. I wouldn't imagine anything in his life after the death of his mother provided him with the help he needed to move on. It's not that sort of family.
He is still involved in Africa through Sentebale and with the Invictus games news.sky.com/story/duke-and-duchess-of-sussex-invictus-games-proud-to-have-harry-remain-as-patron-after-royal-announcement-12222741
I do not dispute the fact that she has mental issues. I feel it unlikely that she would sit crying in the Albert Hall and no-one would notice. I also wonder why they were unable to get help themselves, why did they need to do this through palace officials? Knowing her fragile state who on earth would Harry tell her about the issue of the colour of the skin of future children. This is one of several areas which are to say the least dubious.
They do not have to have the opulent expensive lifestyle they have chosen
No, they don’t. In the course of the conversation, they talked about ‘basics’ or ‘’back to basics’, something along those lines. Probably whilst admiring the rescue chickens, who appear to have been housed in a pretty ‘basic’ hen house.
But Princess Anne was laughed at recently, when her lived-in, bit shabby sitting room was featured in the media.
I suppose when you’re royal, or even when you’ve left, it’s a difficult balancing act.
With £40m Harry could have bought a very large private estate and taken his family away from all the problems. Overseas if needed and lived a private, or partly private life, He didn’t he chose to try and humiliate his family and father (Charles?) in particular, to make money.
Piers Morgan will be snapped up by some other media outlet. I don’t care for the man or his hectoring manner but he’ll be fine and I applaud him for having the guts to say what many are thinking.
I am aware of what I am saying, I gave my opinion ,

No it doesn't maddyone, you are correct.
However PM did have to leave his job for denying that MM had mental health problems, so anybody else who says similar things should be aware of the implications of what they are saying.
Alegrias1 I have only watched one Piers Morgan interview, he recently interviewed Rupert Everett, I watched because it
was Everett not Morgan.
AmberSpyglass I didn’t say she wouldn’t be susceptible to mental illness, everyone is. I said I do not believe her claims of
that event in the Albert Hall.
They already have the private means to support a comfortable life style with out selling themselves on the media. They should have thought all this through before they absconded.
They do not have to have the opulent expensive life style they have chosen. I am sure all of us would like to choose a life style more opulent than the one we have, but knuckle down and match our lifestyle to our available resources. So should they.
I thought, after Prince Harry's successful army career and real empathy for the squaddies he served with and the Invictus Games, that he had a real understanding of ordinary people's lives. How wrong can you be!
Sadly, his mother's death seems to have left Prince Harry still frozen in the emotional pre-pubescent age he was when she died. Petulant, demanding and expecting everyone to put what he wants and his welfare in front of everything and everyone else.
It is a sad disappointment, when he had shown such sympathy and empathy for other people and was making a distinctive life for himself through direct involvement in causes with the armed forces and in Africa.
