Yes it is real and he did, although because of the reaction he got of a lot of merriment etc, he seems to be rowing back saying it was not meant to be taken seriously, which I think makes his remark even weirder.

Gammon is a term given to 'little Englanders' who are red in the face (like gammon) because of all the shouting about foreigners and feminists and so on that they do.

Anyone that uses the term gammon is gammon themselves. Man or woman. Ghastly term. We need to grow up and stop talking BS
