Wills and Harry rift blown out of proportion

I've thought all along that the so-called "feud" between the brothers has been exaggerated by the media. Brothers fall out as anyone with sons will tell you. Usually they make it up and everything is forgotten, but with Harry leaving the country and the press delighting in nasty gossip, a small disagreement has grown into all out war.
At least one reporter thinks as I do.

If I had said ‘Someone should have clocked Charles one years ago’, there would have been outrage from some posters, but it’s ok to suggest bashing Harry?

Lucca Fri 23-Apr-21 21:49:52

I agree Emily

Someone should have clocked Harry one years ago ?

I think that’s a truly shocking comment from one who purports to be a Christian and an allegedly caring mother / grandmother. And I don’t think adding a smiley face at the end makes it funny!

A really unpleasant comment

Ellianne if you had started a new thread there would have been the few who had to be sarcastice.

I thought it a lovely photograph, age 3, I love that age , thank you

What is all this about "bad guys"? It is like the title of this thread states: "all blown out of proportion".
I apologise if I was a bad guy for posting an innocent photo of a sweet little boy on his bicycle. This is a RF thread and the child is a little prince. It made far more sense to include the picture here than to make a fuss starting a new thread announcing it. No big deal.
I apologise if it was offensive. How was I to know it would upset those GNs who are not parents or grandparents?
And as for my being "excited" about the image, that is a laughable comment.

Who is Les btw?

Alegrias1 Fri 23-Apr-21 20:24:51

Thank you Iam64

Wait a minute, someone posts that appreciating pictures of cute children is a mother/grandmother thing, thus excluding those of us who are neither from appreciating said pictures.

I'm not a parent so I can't make such "natural" comments.

And I'm the bad guy?

No Algeria’s, you’re most certainly not the bad guy ?.

Part of my working life involved training police/teachers/social workers/health etc etc in working with children and families. A recurrent theme was the number of course leaders/participants , who were not parrnts

I loved the photo of that dear little boy. Somehow he has a representative function. Its hard to put into words what I mean. I suspect, however, that William and Catherine's children receive presents and cards from Grans and others throughout the country. People care about them.

Bonnie bairn.

We've got bigger issues to put on the front pages here in Scotland. (Vaccines, Cummings, Climate Change....but mostly Les)

All sad sad

So seeing a photo of a lovely, happy little three year old is cheering.

JenniferEccles Fri 23-Apr-21 16:38:35

Yes that delightful picture of Prince Louis was on the front page of virtually every newspaper today.

A lovely smiling happy little boy looking very smart in his nursery school clothes.

A beautiful picture.

Jabberwok Fri 23-Apr-21 16:13:12

HAPPY BIRTHDAY. PRINCE LOUIS!???

Gannygangan Fri 23-Apr-21 16:11:48

Goodness me, Casdon! We'd have had to have a fight over him!

And such a shame, Alegrias1.

My Grandma and I sat in the reception of a New York hotel many moons ago. Cary Grant lived on the top floor. We waited and waited. Went to the loo. Came back and saw his rear end as he got into a waiting car.

Alegrias1 Fri 23-Apr-21 16:08:43

Not when I was there. grin

Maybe I'll start another thread.

Casdon Fri 23-Apr-21 16:08:22

How could you marry him Gannygangan when he was mine! I last saw his version of the Rollers about 6 or 7 years ago in a 70s show, and he was still rocking then. A bit of our youth has gone.

Gannygangan Fri 23-Apr-21 16:07:57

Did he ever come to visit his Mum?

Alegrias1 Fri 23-Apr-21 16:05:37

I was a Derek girl myself. Once sat outside his childhood home hoping he'd come and visit his mum.

Ellianne Fri 23-Apr-21 16:05:27

This is getting a bit morbid.

Gannygangan Fri 23-Apr-21 16:04:26

Well getting back to Les. I fully intended marrying him.

Went to see him when I was 14.

Very exciting.

I've also learned that Jim Steinman has died which is sad.

As for small boy on bike. He looks lovely.

Casdon Fri 23-Apr-21 16:03:31

I didn’t read it like that, I think anybody can appreciate a picture of a cute little boy, and you don’t have to be a mother or a grandmother to do so, so we shouldn’t assume that only they would?

I did think it was a lovely picture, he looks full of the joys of life.

Galaxy Fri 23-Apr-21 16:02:23

That will teach you Lucca grin

This is barmy.
A derailment on this thread 2 days ago because air miles were mentioned, now a full on collision about a photo!
Fasten your seatbelts for the next ride.

Lucca Fri 23-Apr-21 15:57:11

Goodness me all I said was I didn’t get the excitement over a little boy none of us knows I said nothing to imply anyone else couldn’t get excited/pleased!
