I can understand that if there are groups in opposition to Starmer he has to do something, as otherwise he will be accused of not being a strong leader, and of presiding over a split party (as though the Tories speak with one voice, but that's maybe for another thread).
He came in to unite the LP, and in a way that's what he is doing, but he's not doing it in the way that I would prefer. The trouble is that when it comes to voting, much as I would rather be able to vote for a party that more closely matches my views, there is currently nobody who does that, and of the three main parties, Labour is still the most closely aligned.
It's not really about 'sucking it up', for me. It's about keeping out those who would do more harm. Not ideal, perhaps, but I'd rather that as not vote and let the Tories or Lib Dems in.
