Gavin Williamson sacked. That's made my day - totally incompetent in every post he has held.
Sudden thought - the next could be even worse - no, surely not.

Hated to see Williamson on tv & in papers- he looks a bit 'ratty' to me...? Patel staying?hmm, i think she's got something on the rest of them so they dare'nt dismiss her...??

I'm amazed that Patel is still there, proven bully.

She’s there to attract the anti-immigration vote. No one cares about her bullying.

GN can be quite entertaining.

If anyone takes the time to read Nadine Dorries’s bio, it is very interesting, working class Liverpool upbringings. She is a qualified nurse, has worked in Zambia and on her return set up a charity to help working parents.

Cannot see why writing novels (which are mainly based on and around the NHS) is being sneered at. As for appearing on I’m a celebrity, why not? Her fee went to charity.

At least she is not another posh boy which is how she refers to several Conservative MP’s

Nannan2 if I was a 'maiden great aunt' and looked like her I'd be quite happy!

Both Truss' and Gove's appointments made me wince sad

It's interesting what eventually gets to you. I remember at the beginning of this government, amongst all the awful appointments, it was Grant Shapps that eventually did it for me.

I think even his sacking for bullying affected me less than the ludicrous 'Michael Green' behaviour.

GillT- wasnt an avid Dallas watcher, but i get the gyst?

GillT57 Thu 16-Sept-21 12:23:46

Getting back to the original thread title; Ms Dories, our new Culture Secretary, once ate a kangaroo anus, for cultural entertainment we assume. I keep thinking I will wake up one day, like Bobby Ewing........

Shinamae Thu 16-Sept-21 12:21:36

Taking a seat and a cup of tea and reading all these diverse comments. Much better than question time!! ?

Nannan2 Thu 16-Sept-21 12:20:44

Is Dorries the one who looks like a maiden great-aunt and like she should be at retirement age possibly??

Nannan2 Thu 16-Sept-21 12:18:24

Vegansrock?

GillT57 Thu 16-Sept-21 12:17:28

JenniferEccles, there is a FB page called 'Defund the BBC' or similar. That's scary. There are pages like it in every community, full of people with rose tinted glasses who say that a thrashing from their parents/teachers never did them any harm. Another thread on here would say otherwise. Sorry, gone slightly off topic. Warning; the spelling will make you wince

Nadine Dorris as Culture Secretary. Why?

I think you meant "Nadine Dorries. Why?"

JenniferEccles Thu 16-Sept-21 12:11:28

Can you give an example of one of those forums you have so emphatically dismissed PippaZ ?

Maybe you are right with your assessment but I am curious!

Rumour is he turned up for work today as, when he was speaking to Johnson, he thought he was having a conversation with some other random white guy.

Somewhat judgemental Gill? Maybe that is what is wrong in our present times. Everything tied up together. Two people both like apples but one likes brown bread and one likes white. smile

I agree love0c, they are incredibly judgemental. Actually the demographic is much older and less educated (from what I can gather) than GN so not suprising they are rules orientated. And you can guess where they voted when it came to Brexit! I think anyone who want to vote remain was driven off.

I've come across a site like you mention. I wonder if it was the same one - it was for over 50s.

Truss is Foreign Secretay. It can't really get any worse. sad

That's what we said when Hunt was Health minister

I'm looking for a miracle. Apparently Gove has spoken of the need for good social housing in the past.

Barmeyoldbat Thu 16-Sept-21 11:53:19

Short legs, I very much doubt it.

You've seen the same one GillT! I agree about not reading too often.

Shortlegs Thu 16-Sept-21 11:38:54

Things could be a lot worse. We could have a Labour administration.
