BBC chief gets pay rise.

As over 75s lose the free TV licence the BBC increased the Director's salary by £75000 He now earns £525,000. Can anyone really be worth that much?
Shouldn't that money go into making better programmes?

People are paid that much, but whether they're worth it is another matter.

"A BBC spokesman said Davie’s salary was “well below the market rate for this type of role”, adding that Carolyn McCall at ITV is paid £833,000, and Alex Mahon at Channel 4 earns £991,000." Quote taken from The National.
