I think that what the DM article was trying to say was the Brexit isn't a prime concern of the new intake of tory MPs in the same way that it is for the old guard ERG MPs. So it will diminish in significance in the tory party. I can't see it myself.

Of course, like covid19, it is very far from over.

I’m not ashamed of my reaction to the DM’s investigation into and coverage of the Lawrence case.
It was brilliant

The DM campaigned for 15 years to try to get those 5 men back into court. Dobson and Norris are now in jail for Stephen Lawrence's murder. The Acourt brothers went on the run in Spain - one was sentenced to 6 years but was let out after 3 and the other is a convicted drug trafficker The 5th is free.

Occasionally the DM does some good work.

Well, I've just read the article in the OP a few more times and I can't see where it claims Brexit is all over. I'm sure there are plenty of people who wish others would stop talking about it, but that's not the same thing.

Even more baffling is the turn this thread took.

FWIW In my opinion, of course Brexit isn't all over. The whole country is going to live with the consequences of whatever happens in Northern Ireland for decades - just as some people were predicting before 2016. The economy has been affected negatively and fishers and farmers have had their livelihoods changed forever. I doubt very much whether any of us in the latter part of our lives will see the UK recover in our lifetimes. It's created divisions which won't go away.

I don't pretend to know what's going on and I suspect the Daily Mail doesn't either. It's rehashed some PR story "leaked" from Downing Street. There's the same theme about the fall of the Greeks. There's no doubt that there's trouble brewing in the inner circles of the Tory party, which was inevitable when it absorbed UKIP. It's not quite Jacobins versus Girondins or Trotskyists versus Leninists, but it's obvious there's been a falling out.

So ... back to the OP ... no, Brexit isn't over.

I am now posting a BBC link pointing out exactly what happened before the Mail posted the headline.

They were going to get off. They would never have been charged. And, in my opinion, that was wrong. If you think the Mail was wrong, that is fine. Your opinion.

It was good investigative journalism. Nothing wrong with that.

Plastering the photos of the suspects all over the front page and screaming that they were guilty was a completely wrong use of the findings from that work.

I would have thought that no matter how much one loathes the DM they have to agree that the DM did the right thing. The Lawrence's managed to get some justice for the killing of their much loved son.

In fact it was just an exercise and I was interested that such a page existed. ?
