To turn up looking like a tramp is showing clear disrespect to all the fallen.

It is funny or clever, it is a disgrace.

As someone said. Johnson had a pre-scripted speech made in front of a friendly audience.

How could he have made such a fool of himself?

Kali2 Mon 22-Nov-21 15:23:57

Many of us have seen the photo of Angela Merkel and Macron laughing their heads off- with varied captions. And the latest one says 'and then he told us ... about Peppa Pig'

I saw the CBI speech. It was excruciating to watch. How on earth will UK earn respect around the world. Is anything safe in his hands? Help.

MaizieD Mon 22-Nov-21 14:12:53

The CBI twitter account made a whole series of tweets on a previous speaker's speech. Not much about Johnson's though. Too cowardly to upset the government by saying it was a load of incoherent nonsense but clearly not very impressed...?

Kali2 Mon 22-Nov-21 13:52:29

What an absolute mess- and this is supposed to inspire confidence for British Business. And the world is watching too ...

He is obviously quite an authority on Peppa Pig!

MaizieD Mon 22-Nov-21 13:10:35

According to Johnson

" Mother nature does not like working from home..."

Just what is the man smoking, snorting or drinking?

Dinahmo Mon 22-Nov-21 12:48:05

Laughable. This is our PM who demands respect from the rest of the world.

Anyone see/hear Johnson’s ‘speech’ ( I use the word loosely) at the CBI conference? How embarrassing.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 20-Nov-21 10:54:05

‘It’s weird, but I suspect that Johnson will always get someone else to deliver the threats.

Look at when he threatened to inflict violence. That was done by someone else.

It is his modus operandi.

Hasn't the threat to sue been rescinded?

“My guess is Carrie saw the story, demanded Johnson deny it, and he told Doyle to do his dirty work. A coward and a charlatan on so many levels. He picked the wrong paper if he thought we would just roll over. No 10 threats no more believable than No 10 denials of his conduct”

Johnson is to sue The New European over its exclusive story that he told a room full of Telegraph journalists he was experiencing “buyer’s remorse” over married life with Carrie Symonds.
The New European says it stands by its story.

Has Johnson’s reacted to his remark?

Actually, Gagajo, I couldn't go into the butterfly house! I love them in the garden on a flower but the thought of one landing on me makes me feel really nervous!

The sunflower garden on the roof, the orchid gardens, all were lovely. We were once there at Diwali. It must be the best airport in the world.

GagaJo Fri 19-Nov-21 19:52:16

Ooooo lovely Changi Calistemon. The butterflies!

How did he and Carrie rack up £1800 of freebies at Heathrow? They must have eaten/ drunk a lot.

Even executive lounges aren't cheap, it's easy to run up £100s.
Anyway, it would have cost far more in security detail if he and his family had enjoyed the hospitality at Giraffe or TGI Friday amongst holidaymakers.

We're plebs who only spent about £50 each (discounts available online) for transit lounges at HKIA and Changi!

Food, drinks, showers, even a sleep in a bed if you had enough time.

Scones Fri 19-Nov-21 10:04:35

I don't think he's claiming for it MaizieD I think he's declaring he received use of the lounge which cost £1,800 as a freebie as part of his freebie holiday.

Man with (at least) three houses needs fourth house for holiday and 'magically' is given that free by people who want a)tax cuts for air travel and b) a peerage. All sounds perfectly fine and fair, move along now, nothing to see here.

MaizieD Fri 19-Nov-21 09:52:38

This is all very well, but doesn't really address the question of what is he claiming £1,800 for.

Or why he hasn't declared the value of his free holiday...

Lucca Fri 19-Nov-21 09:33:39

I love the emirates lounge…. Hate the ticket price though but I have a kind brother!

Yes, we get free hospitality with our Amex platinum card. It's worth the annual fee just for that.
I'm guessing Boris was a few lounges above that!

If he was BA First Class, the lounge is very nice.

Lucca you are correct, if you are not eligible by your flight ticket it’s possible to pay to get into one of the generic lounges at Heathrow, not overly expensive, once inside all is free.
