Horrendous Dolphin Hunt in the Faroe Islands

Over 1,400 dolphins were driven onto the beach and slaughtered one by one. Terrified dolphins thrashed around as pregnant mothers and calves were also killed. Many suffocated on the sand. Days later another 53 pilot whales were killed.

The email from Avaaz arrived yesterday. Apparently the Faroese govt promised a review onto stopping future kills but the PM seems to be weakening and Avaaz suggests that there will a phoney review. Here's a link to the actual email. It's possible that there will be another hunt soon.

This event was unbelievably dreadful, so awful it's difficult to find the words to describe it. Why these people still have to behave in this unspeakable way is completely beyond me. What is also incomprehensible is that Denmark actually has a warship standing by to prevent any disruption of this barbaric slaughter, and thus presumably condones it!! Denmark! a presumably civilised country with animal protection laws? Completely outrageous.

Indeed, it is just beyond cruel and just cannot be tolerated now. Just because a video is not dated today, does not mean it is not just as relevant- if the threat is still there. Thank you for reminding us Dinahmo, that we must all do everything we can to put pressure on Danish Government.
