Boris and Carrie have just announced the birth of a daughter. No further news yet.

Oh for a labour like that!

Josianne Fri 10-Dec-21 17:03:41

Hats off to Carrie calmly walking into the hospital at 7.40 am and having the baby pretty swiftly. She must have been quite advanced in her labour because apparently the police were contacted to check out the building two hours prior to Carrie's arrival. She's lucky she was able to hang on a bit!

Congratulations a baby sister for gorgeous little Wilfred.

Jabberwok Fri 10-Dec-21 16:29:48

Yes there are some horrible comments both on here and elsewhere. Only to be expected I suppose. As for names I favour Anna, but who knows?! I like Alice, Polly or perhaps Charlotte after Boris's mother.

Well that’s one forum you won’t find me on Alegrias.

Blossoming

I wish mother and baby well, as I would for anyone, but I can’t feel any joy about it at the moment.

... my feelings exactly. A baby is an innocent - and I wish Carrie Johnson well in her motherhood.

Maybe we need a special forum for "Nice Baby Stories"?

Lucca Fri 10-Dec-21 15:39:47

Where are these “bitchy “ comments about the baby ??

Nannashirlz Fri 10-Dec-21 15:39:22

Some of you need to take a good look at yourself with some of the nasty comments. Grow up How would you feel if it was your grandchild and ppl had said what you had wrote. Does it matter how many kids he’s got NO it’s a new life new baby and a new welcome to the world.

Bazza Fri 10-Dec-21 15:37:53

Rowantree, whatever you think about the baby, don’t call her “it!”

Calistemon Fri 10-Dec-21 15:08:33

?

lemongrove Fri 10-Dec-21 15:07:15

I like Helena and Claudia, lovely names.

Calistemon Fri 10-Dec-21 15:05:23

Yes, nice post, Rabbitgran

I like some of your name suggestions wink!

lemongrove Fri 10-Dec-21 15:02:17

Rabbitgran gives a good example of how to comment in a charitable way if you don’t like/ agree with Johnson or the government in general.smile
How anyone can do otherwise is beyond me.

lemongrove Fri 10-Dec-21 14:58:27

Certainly Gransnet at it’s worst, that’s for sure!

Rabbitgran Fri 10-Dec-21 14:54:32

BJ is supposedly keen on classical history so how about these possibilities - Clytemnestra, Apate, Eris, Hera, Enyo, Alteco, Megaera, Tisiphone, Discordia, Lucretia, Claudia Quinta, Fulvia, Livia, Agrippa, Helena, Pompeia, Drusilla, Tarpeia, Tullia Major.

I don't like Boris Johnson or any of his cabinet one bit. He is very bad for this country but I wish all his children well and hope that they have good fortune and happy lives.

Alegrias1 Fri 10-Dec-21 14:54:04

If you think this is Social Media at its worst you're leading quite a sheltered life ?

lemongrove Fri 10-Dec-21 14:43:10

Dear God! Some of the comments on here, social media at it’s worst.

Baggs Fri 10-Dec-21 14:04:25

At least Cassia, Lara and Lettice (Letitia) are proper names.

Baggs Fri 10-Dec-21 14:03:50

Baggs

Cassia Peaches and Lara Lettice

Really?
Or are they Bob Geldof's daughters?

As Derek Trotter said so memorably:
"It's a little baby"
An innocent new life.

Nope. BJ's daughters' names are quite restrained compared to Geldoff's:

Peaches, Pixie, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily, and Fifi Trixibelle.

Grantanow Fri 10-Dec-21 13:57:10

Pace the late Dr Freud I think the baby is the only innocent in all this. As for the rest of them, don't even ask. Last night on QT saw be yet another hapless junior Minister trying to defend (and distract from) the awful, self-inflicted mess they are in. It's like reading Kafka.

katy1950 Fri 10-Dec-21 13:47:11

Congratulations to them just ignore the horrible comments it's a new baby and that should be celebrated
