What have I just read???

I have just read that a monster of a woman in the US gave a tearful interview after her 5 yr old daughter was abducted, raped, sodomised and strangled. Turns out she’d sold this poor child to a man for sex.

I feel sick to my stomach that such utterly evil and depraved people exist. I feel quite depressed now. It’s sickened me. I wish I hadn’t read it. In fact I only read the first few sentences as I didn’t wish to know anymore.

I don’t believe in the death penalty but I have to admit that filth such as this needs to be put down as we would a rabid dog. No fuss, no ceremony; just an overdose of anaesthetic as they do with animals.

Iam64 Sun 02-Jan-22 21:26:05

Exactly. They don’t let emotion get in the way

MissAdventure Sun 02-Jan-22 21:14:47

Yes, because they are good for businesses.
Able to make decisions in a calculated way.

True Miss Adventure. A number of those high functioning psychopaths are CEOs or other individuals with a lot of power in their work

MissAdventure Sun 02-Jan-22 20:06:49

Even psychopaths have a choice to do good or bad, I think.
I can't remember the figures, and don't know if they're accurate, but a good few law abiding citizens are said to be psychopaths.

Esmay Sun 02-Jan-22 20:00:09

I think that one in a hundred people have a psychopathic personality .

A great deal of research was done after the World War 2 after the shock of the Holocaust and other atrocities perpetrated by the Nazis .

Years ago, I met an elderly German guy and asked him .
We had no choice ,was his honest reply .
And his best friend was a Jewish survivor of the camps .

MissAdventure Sun 02-Jan-22 19:54:02

Amen to that!

Iam64 Sun 02-Jan-22 19:43:34

Thankfully evangelicals of any fauth don’t write the laws

Shinamae Sun 02-Jan-22 19:13:09

An eye for an eye………..an overdose of anaesthetic is far too easy an end for these filth, they need to suffer as they have made their victims suffer..

Galaxy Sun 02-Jan-22 19:11:57

No I am an atheist.

Blondiescot Sun 02-Jan-22 19:07:05

In a word, no.

HolySox Sun 02-Jan-22 18:56:40

You mean it is a 'right' because some man decreed it? A result of 'democracy'?
Does anyone know if God ever said abortion is right or a right?
He did say do not kill. If that includes the unborn child then the law is evil!
Does anybody care what God says anymore?

Galaxy Sun 02-Jan-22 18:42:27

The law holysox.

No real comparison at all.
12 year olds carrying a baby conceived by incestuous rape, a woman who will die if the pregnancy continues or a woman who finds herself pregnant and can’t continue with thst pregnancy for reasons known only to her, all have the same right / a woman’s right to choose

Who says she has 'a right'? A throwaway phrase we use so often. 'I have a right'.
Does God say 'you have rights'?
If you don't believe there is a God, then who decided you have a 'right'?

I’m talking about the trauma to the child....not the reasons why. No doubt, there’ll be a multitude of reasons why the mother of the five year old, and the man who abused and murdered that poor child...did what they did.

Anyway, I’m signing out now, but to answer tickingbird’s post...no, I don’t believe in the death penalty. It lowers us to their level, and it’s too quick. They should suffer in jail until they die.

DiscoDancer1975 Sun 02-Jan-22 18:07:09

Haha....crossed posts HolySox.

DiscoDancer1975 Sun 02-Jan-22 18:06:04

Exactly why we need God! We can’t agree on what’s evil, and which layer is worse than another.

Sorry.... I know this is to Holysox lam64, but they’re both as nauseating as each other surely?

Yes, they both are nauseating in the sense that a mother allows her child, born or unborn, to be killed. Clearly not all agree on this hence my point that we disagree on what is 'evil' and what is 'good' (or should I say 'who').
At least we are all appalled at the rape and murder of this 5 year old! Very sad but just goes to remind us evil is still with us - and always will be.
I do agree with Iam64 in that these people should not be given the death penalty. From my point of view it would give them chance to repent and be saved, as did Myra Hindley, the personification of evil for many.

Back to tickingbird’s OP, I read about this horrific case this morning and felt sic, tearful, horrified and more. What kind of people behave like this. This mother didn’t suddenly lose her mind and sell the child. This little girl will have lived horrors and why did no one notice?
It’s all too familiar given the recent murder of Arthur and Star.
I understand the desire for the death penalty but I’m opposed to it.
HolySox, introducing and almost comparing termination with selling a child to be sexually abused and murdered is nauseating

No, it isn't "only the 'good and nice' who go to heaven'" and any church worthy of being considered one wouldn't preach that DiscoDancer.

For Christians, our salvation is in our acceptance of Jesus as our saviour, our acceptance of the wrong we have done and our repentance.

Agree.

My parents brought me up to treat people in the way I would like to be treated. I was a regular churchgoer when married to my Catholic husband but I found the whole thing too cliquey for my liking. The issue of paedophile priests finished me off. We had one in our local area and the way that was swept under the carpet sickened me. 'Suffer little children' indeed.
