There’s a lot more going on than we have any idea of. Hopefully.
I Need Advice on Buying a Strimmer
How did you vote and why today
Seems like the measly sanctions haven’t frightened Putin, surprise surprise. What will be our circus of a government here’s response? We need to build bridges with the EU and have a combined response with the US.That would mean a different government here, I fear, as this lot have burnt too many bridges. Can’t wait to see Liz Truss in her fur hat issuing threats.

Nobody managed to get rid of Hitler, did they, although they tried.
The last series of Killing Eve starts tonight.
I'm hoping there's someone out there in real life like Villanelle. I'm sure we could raise the funds for her fee.
If so, I'd like to see it
Apparently the Bayraktar Song is being constantly played on Ukraine radio. A Ukrainian/ Russian war song.
Let us hope this is true.
“Aide to Ukrainian President Zelensky tells me he senses a shift among Russian negotiators as sanctions and battlefield losses hit. "They are starting to realize the real price of war only now. And now we are starting to have constructive negotiations."
WW2. Did you take part in the 1 in 5 programme?
I haven’t been on for a couple of days but No I didn’t.
I see Putin is now making thinly veiled threats to nuke us. Cripes!! I’m still willing to back the sanctions etc. I don’t want war, it’s horrific for all, except the warmongers, but this bully boy must be stopped.

The whole situation is just so awful and so worrying. We are now being threatened by Putin for supplying arms to Ukraine. The poor people of Ukraine with their wonderful and brave leader. The children sleeping underground. The ruined infrastructure. Awful!

Good morning, this is Kyiv calling.
This city’s defences remain intact, the brave Ukrainians defending their country remain resolute.
I am but a guest here, but this place & these people will forever be a part of my heart.
We are still here.
We will remain here.
So it's now against the law to broadcast "fake news" in Russia with a 15 year sentence.
I assume by fake news he means the truth.
I am very glad Trump is not still in power, what an awful combination that would be
I think the reporters are wonderful. The Ukrainian people a truly brave and inspirational nation. It’s in everyone interests to find a solution to this terrible war. . No one in the works wants nuclear war, only narrowly avoided last week. How to deal with a madman, how can anyone? There’s so much going on behind the scenes, I still feel that Russian people will have their veils lifted when mobile phone footage shows Putin for the liar he is, money will talk, but Putin, will happily stand by and see any people, including his own, starve to death as long as he’s got food in his cupboard.
I see #anonymous is hacking into Russian television and showing footage of the war.
WW Reddit is very good for information about the activities of anonymous

Seems strange that Russia is only threatening us, but not rest of the world, who have gone much further in sanctions.
Maybe they are going for the softest target Fraya5. Many of the UKs closest friends have become countries that are just polite us in recent years.
Breaking news: the humanitarian 'safe routes' opening up are only to Russia or Belarus. Could be out of the frying pan for those poor refugees.
Apparently Putin’s wife (? partner) is in a secret safe haven with their 4 children - 2 boys and twin girls - in Switzerland.

Not ideal but at least they don’t have to travel through a moving front line and those in the eastern cities would have a very long uncertain journey to Poland.
I hope the camps are run by the Red Cross.

Any refugees that go to Russia or Belarus will be used as proof for Putin's "liberating Ukraine" claims.

That will add to the Russian propaganda. Who would go? I suppose there will be some but out of the frying pan into the fire as far as I can see. Also a possibility of being used as a human shield by the Russians. I wouldn't put it past them.

I'm sincerely glad that the media have taken a very sympathetic view of the horrors faced by Ukrainians. In fact, they've dispensed with 'impartiality' and 'balance'. I wonder what that would have looked like if they had done this with the civilian population of Iraq 2003-2011.^
It is wonderful to see the great response by the British people to this tragedy and the many millions of pounds donated to the main charity helping refuges. BUT......seems at odds with the way the same public have responded in the past to other refugees from war-torn countries. AND....even these at present. Air strikes in civilian targets are not just happening at present in Ukraine.

His last wife (Ludyiva (sp?) divorced him in 2013, they had two girls, not sure about any previous wives/partners

It is at odds. That doesn't make me any less grateful for the response we have seen, only sad that we find it difficult, as countries, to see further than we do.
Sadly, it appears that although countries from the European continent to much further away are willing to help, we on our little island do not have such open arms. We will do what we can, apparently, but woe betide these poor people if they see us as a sanctuary.
