The only good thing about this knighthood is the horror, disgust and anger it has stirred up. Obviously well hidden under all the other atrocities of this government in not granting visas to Ukrainian refugees etc otherwise it would be front page. Granting this unworthy person a knighthood disrespects all the deserving people who have been awarded honours for doing great things for UK. When oh when will this country find a way of standing up to this government - and I don't just mean protests in the streets as they are intending to arrest you for those!
If failure is a criterion for the awarding of honours, then it's a fair bet that Chris' Failing Grayling will be rewarded with a seat in the Lords when this the present Parliament ends. Remember who awarded a £13.8m ferry contract to a company that had no ferries?
He's now working part time as an advisor to a port operator. It is said that his first piece of advice was 'make sure you have some ships for your ports'
The biggest gong surely should go to the biggest failure - one Boris Johnson whose childhood ambition was to be "King of the World", so let's just declare "Boris is now King of the World"
He would obviously outrank , not only Vladimir Putin, but really important people like Sir Gavin Williamson, Lord Evgeny Lebedev and the Queen, the Pope, the Dali Lama. President Xi of China and the Secretary Genegal of the United Nations .
Nothing we could do could possibly make him more of a figure of ridicule thasn he already is in every country of the worls.

I have just emailed my MP to ask his opinion on the elevation of Gavin Williamson. Marina Hyde summed it up very well in The Guardian, and to save everyone reading the link; the summary is
it’s hard to believe Boris Johnson will really crack down on Putin’s cronies, when he’s just knighted one of his own
I'd been going to ask what good it did him, it's not hereditary, it doesn't come with a salary but I see Voler has beaten me to it.
So I'll just ask, feeling a bit like the only thickie in the village, What do fireplaces reference?
I disagree with this, it doesn't come with a salary, and you, Volver and I may not defer to him because he's knighted; but other people, and other 'important' people will.
Why is everyone surprised? This is obviously a well deserved honour for services to fireplaces. After all the man's almost as intelligent as a brick.
I'm just surprised that Failing Grayling is still waiting. I would have thought he was ideal Tory knighthood material. Perhaps he just needs one more disaster.
I think Williamson doesn’t even deserve a Blue Peter badge . His only quality has been consistency- consistently incompetent. By rewarding him for failure, the honours system has never looked more dishonourable.
