Never again….

When I was a schoolgirl in year 7 ,aged about 12 , we were solemnly ushered into the school,assembly hall and told that our families needed to prepare shelters and store tinned food. Sandbags were mentioned as a good protective measure.
What a load of balderdash, as if we would survive. I think it was during the Cuban missile crisis. When we were in Hungary we were shown an underground shelter with beds and facilities. Very large , quite amazing.

I recall being shown a film about a nuclear attack back in 1971 - I had joined the police cadets and we all shocked as we learnt that after an attack looters would most likely be shot and that we would have to do the shooting; not what we had joined up to to. I still remember the shock we all felt.

Putin would cheat, he would then demand that he fights all World Leaders and would cheat to win and if he lost he would still invade their countries.
That man will never play fair.
But I think that if there is a Nuclear attack we would never be able to escape in time and life as we know it probably wouldn’t be worth living.
I doubt we would get any warning and it would all be over in a flash, literally.
I’m trying to stop worrying about things over which I have absolutely no control. But I feel for the people of Ukraine.

Absolutely! We cannot live in fear. I was even worried about the Millennium Bug which was supposed to be the end of the world. I've often wished they could thrash out their arguments in a football match which would save countless lives and utter devastation. But a boxing match would be good too, Putin v Zelensky and the winner takes all. How much easier it would be.
