The Office of Budget Responsibility is forecasting the steepest one-year decline in living standards since records began in 1950s! The boss of Iceland says food bank users are refusing root vegetables and potatoes because they can’t afford the energy to boil them. Yet the Chancellor is trying to put the blame on the International crisis. Rocketing inflation and cuts to universal credit were already in place before any tank rolled across the Ukrainian border. But heh! Lets get excited, the Chancellor announced a 1p cut in income tax ……in 2024 (election year, me thinks!). It is generally acknowledge that Sunak’s budget satisfies his back benches allies while leaving the poor, low waged, state reliant pensioners and people on benefits facing a very grim and cold future!
