Twenty three days into the Homes for Ukraine process only 12k refugees have successfully entered Uk of which 10.k have family connections. Over 200k people have expressed interested in opening their homes to refugees. Many people are reporting delays in the processing of applications (8 hours to fill in forms and an interminable wait for response) frequent changes to rules, zero feedback and an ineffective helpline who frequently put the phone down on callers. The visa centre in Warsaw closes on Thursday for Easter. Bet those wily Russians won't stop bombing for the 4 day holiday!
Rather than the PM causing a security nightmare with his photo opportunity in Kiev, how about simplifying the visa process for these poor people seeking to enter UK??? But then, there are some elections round the corner and the Tories desperately need the PM to play hero. You just can’t get the same PR push from a zoom call, can you?
