Will you vote Tory next time?

Just wondering if those who voted Conservative at the last General Election will do so next time? I ask the question in light of all the scandals associated with this Government, together with the lack of action taken to mitigate the effects of the ‘cost of living crisis’ (despite France, Spain and several other European countries giving much more help to their people), abandoning the Triple Lock (despite retaining it being in their manifesto).

All our political class are of poor quality and my Tory MP has committed himself for mental care. I may as well vote for the Monster Raving Loonies.

Witzend Tue 12-Apr-22 14:38:12

Is anyone on GN ever going to admit to it, even if they are? And face all the lambasting from the righteous ones?

Personally I rather wish there’d be a Monster Raving Loony candidate at the next GE - I did vote for one of those once, when I couldn’t face putting my X for any of the others, but I’d never not vote.

I can’t vote LibDem or Green while they still can’t or won’t accept what a woman is. Ditto Labour for the same reason, but they invariably come nowhere in this constituency anyway.

It will depend. I will be reading the manifestos and thinking hard, same as usual.

I am certainly fed up with Boris, though I do like the way he has supported Zelensky. I do quite like Keir Starmer.

Sadly, I already think Tories will win again next election and that's before they pull out all the gimmicks to buy us back. I currently have no party I consider worthy of my vote. I cannot conceive of spoiling my paper as that seems like an act of vandalism and I certainly will vote. Political wilderness for me at the moment but I will listen to them all and hope to spot the tiniest spark of integrity somewhere and cling to it.

Depends on the candidate for our constituency
Have never voted Labour in my life we live in a Tory stronghold which may or may not change but probably not if Labour are still not a credible alternative

Spec1alk Tue 12-Apr-22 14:03:58

I won’t. but at present I can’t see any other party worth voting for. But, whatever happens I will cast my vote at the next election, women fought hard to ensure we could.

If only there was an alternative party giving the public confidence that they could do any better.

I'm confident that my cats could do better. It wouldn't be difficult..

Mind you, I have never voted tory and never will. Too much hang 'em and flog 'em and 'undeserving poor' for my liking.

katy1950 Tue 12-Apr-22 13:57:53

I'm not impressed by any of the parties the labour party isn't sure what a woman is , liberals who are they, greens away with the fairies, Tories too many wealthy mps

volver Tue 12-Apr-22 13:57:30

You mean like a Party who didn't have a law-breaker as leader?

Absolutely I will. I dread to think what mess we would be in now if any of the opposition parties had had to deal with all that Boris & co have had thrown at them since being elected. And despite all the problems,we still have many good news stories. Unfortunately these don’t get mentioned much in the news because they are so hung up on digging for old dirt.

I'd love to hear some good news stories. What you got? Preferably something that the government actually has control over.

GagaJo Tue 12-Apr-22 13:52:54

'old dirt', like our chancellor holding a green card and his wife paying zero UK tax, while living here full-time. Sounds like current dirt to me.

Yes, why not vote for a party that's decimating the NHS and throwing away billions of tax payers money while raising taxes, all because of one, niche issue that party doesn't really even care about.

BlueBelle Tue 12-Apr-22 13:52:34

Boris and Co he’s not a kindergarten child vtrep
ahh but on reflection ……? umm you re right
Little boris and his gang stealing pencils as they knock over the other kids and stepping on them to get to the front, ‘me miss me, me’

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 12-Apr-22 13:50:58

Yes I will.

saltnshake Tue 12-Apr-22 13:48:47

I won't be voting for any party that doesn't know what a woman is.

BlueBelle Tue 12-Apr-22 13:48:21

Never have and never will (60 years)

Yes unless there is a credible alternative.

Not necessarily, Stella. Our current Tory MP is doing a lot for the area. The last, Labour, one didn't. Previous Labour ones did, though. People, not party. And council elections shouldn't have anything to do with political parties but everything to do with what's best for the area. Both affect my life.

I wish that was true. People would vote for a donkey wearing a blue rosette here, in fact they already have!

No. Sadly I live in a Tory area full of swivel eyed pro Brexiteers and their tweedy wives. But you never know, pigs might fly and Labour or LibDems might get in.

you live by me...

Mamardoit Tue 12-Apr-22 13:42:49

I never have.
I won't be voting Labour either or LibDem(quislings).

I did vote Green in the last local election. The guy lives local and so I sort of knew he would make a good councilor. Sadly the tories still got in.

If a GE was called tomorrow I would spoil the ballot.

Never have, never will. Why support the party that only gives to the rich?

No way, but I didn't last time either (or for Brexit).
