Johnson and Sunak to be served fixed penalty notices. Will he still maintain he didn't break the law?

Grandmabatty Tue 12-Apr-22 16:45:30

I object strongly to Fabricants comments about teachers and hospital workers having drinks at work. For many years it would be an instant sackable offence for teachers to drink on the premises after hours. I can't comment on hospital workers but I would imagine they are the same. How dare he defend Johnson by casting slurs on professions! I am sock of the shower of them.

Jane you dont have to zoom in on Johnsons trousers if you dont want to whatever Casdon says grin

My favourite ever post on GN.

All these people have been found guilty and issued with fines for rule breaking that the Met Police, until pressed, didn't think worth investigating.

Fu**ing Fabricant is on BBC. We must remember that Johnson had covid, and spent the rest of his time single handedly developing the covid vaccine apparently. This is getting surreal. I feel like I am living in some sort of alternative universe.

GillT57 Tue 12-Apr-22 16:22:02

My bet is that Sunak will go, distancing himself from the 'immoral' no 10, clear off then possibly reappear in a few year's time. Johnson will not go, and is probably hoping that the Queen will die quite soon to deflect attention and get the country concentrating on something else. Before the indignation is stirred; I do not wish HM ill, but I most certainly wish the PM the worst that heaven and hell can bring upon his lying head.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 12-Apr-22 16:14:12

Law makers can’t be law breakers.

Nothing Johnson says will ever be believed again.

MaizieD Tue 12-Apr-22 16:13:22

Nice bit of Dinosaur Park deflection, ladies grin

I wonder, if he refuses to resign, whether the Queen will finally pull up her Big Girl Pants and tell him to go. She surely can't be enjoying seeing her country shrugging off truth and honour.

Daisymae Tue 12-Apr-22 16:09:14

They should both resign and give us all a break. I have no doubt that Johnson has not considered it. Not sure about Sunak though.

OakDryad Tue 12-Apr-22 16:02:54

I would expect Sunak to resign and head to the USA. He and his wife are probably already loading the pantechnicon with gold.

Johnson will be harder to shift. Expect a Crispin Blunt-inspired blameshift the … “most homes” and “most businesses” broke the law in the pandemic defence. If he doesn’t go of his own volition we can only hope any decent members of the party are now licking the envelopes for the letters they should have sent to the 1922 Committee weeks ago.

The key point is not that Boris Johnson received a penalty notice.
The key point is that the fine proves he has repeatedly lied to parliament about his actions during COVID.
Democracy requires - for voting for accountability - leaders who tell the truth.
He must go.

Casdon Tue 12-Apr-22 15:59:43

Haha JaneJudge - she’s less than 6 months old though, I figured she wouldn’t be interested!

Luckygirl3 Paradise Wildlife Park is a wonderful place for children.

My two 2yr old GS’s love it and they are obsessed with dinosaurs of all sizes, not even upset by the very large animatronic ones in the Natural History Museum in London.

I was going to say the same - lots of little ones absolutely love dinosaurs! Mine would have a whale of a time there. And in any case, that's only deflecting from the real issue - the lying, cheating and now criminals who are running the country.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 12-Apr-22 15:54:38

Bring on Susan Gray’s report, now! I imagine it’s just sitting on her desk waiting for this very moment.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 12-Apr-22 15:53:37

Tory MPs seem to have a choice. They either follow the rules relating to the ministerial code and insist that Johnson et al. resign. Or

They decide to trash the ministerial code and prove that they are a total lot of moral vacuums.

JaneJudge Tue 12-Apr-22 15:53:00

now now Cadon, the female of the species can like dinosaurs too grin especially when one is their Father

My children loved dinosaurworld in norfolk which looks similar . One of mine was terrified of wind though hmm

It’s always been fascinating to me how different children are/react, even siblings can vary enormously in likes, fears and personality.

Casdon Tue 12-Apr-22 15:49:45

I think it was a great place to take his children, I’m sure his son loved it- but JaneJudge just zoom in on the photo - both his top and trousers are filthy, it looks like they have been worn numerous times without being washed. Even two small children wouldn’t account for that level of yuck.

Mine were terrified when they were tiny.

So we’re mine Whitewavemark2 but not the GC, they take everything in their stride now. It’s taken a few months of being out and about normally for the 2yr olds as they were only 6months and 2months at the start of lockdown no.1 but now they appear to be fearless.

I guess it’s down to the availability of so many films on big screen TVs at home?

JaneJudge Tue 12-Apr-22 15:44:42

how did he manage to get fuel to go to the wildlife park in his pyjamas
