He is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t…

Ice that the queen got a visit from her grandson. Bet she didn’t complain.

So, can anybody tell the difference between:

Arriving to see his granny unannounced without the children and leaving before anybody actually notices.

And

Arriving for a few days visit with the children in tow, and appearing in public, before a public half of whom think he is the devil incarnate?

I think Harry thought he had better visit his grandmother now as the choice of timing may be limited later if her health deteriorates.

It is such a pity they did not bring the children- they could have had a few days to recover from the flight- there are sufficient rooms and staff, and then be flown home again.

It is a disgrace he did not come over for Philip's memorial. There would have been sufficient security staff to look after that pampered boy with the other members of the royal family.

It’s always nice to see your grandchildren.

Bridie22 Fri 15-Apr-22 09:00:39

Maybe they just popped in with an early birthday pressie.

TillyTrotter Fri 15-Apr-22 08:54:19

I’m happy for the Queen that she has been visited by Harry especially.
I’m also glad that Harry & Meghan can do something without TV camera’s, and a big hoo-ha.

tickingbird Fri 15-Apr-22 08:53:40

Pleased that H & M have visited the Queen. I hope it’s not because they know something we don’t regarding her health.

Just goes to show all the fuss about the Met providing them with security was a fuss about nothing and proves they can fly under the radar when necessary.

Only they really know what happens in their family as in all families. Every single thing we read about their relationships in the press is either second hand tittle tattle from someone with an agenda or a complete work of fiction. I remember as a child reading about royal relationships in the Sunday People (!!) It was utter tripe then and it's utter tripe now.

I hope their time together was full of love and made them all very happy.

Lucca

Is this the fourth royal family thread on the go at the moment ? !

Obviously, Royal threads are more appealing to some on GN than other threads.

Serendipity22 Fri 15-Apr-22 07:57:11

This news is wonderful. I am so thrilled that Harry came over. I like Harry, despite everything that has occurred, we have no idea what his life must be like but our Queen is his grandma and hes flown over to be with her, wonderful.

Hmm, yes, this taking place does make me look at the core reasoning and i ask myself why?.

25Avalon Fri 15-Apr-22 07:51:04

oh to have been a fly on the wall! I bet we will see plenty of this is what was said comments from royal so called close advisers flies on the wall.

AGAA4 Fri 15-Apr-22 07:49:26

The Queen will have been happy to see Harry. He is her grandson despite all the problems. I am glad he has visited her secretly without the media being involved till after they left.

merlotgran Fri 15-Apr-22 07:43:52

I’m glad they have visited the Queen.

No point in any further comment.

M&H haven't visited the Queen. Bad Harry!

M&H have visited the Queen. Bad Harry!

Calendargirl Fri 15-Apr-22 07:08:23

And they’re off…

They’ve visited the Queen, quietly, privately, discreetly, whatever you want to call it. On their way to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands, I think.

So why all the fuss a while ago? I seem to recall many on GN wondered why this type of visit couldn’t have been made before, and the public informed about it after it had happened, which is what now seems to have happened.

Storms in teacups, all of H&M’s own making.

My mother died at age 95. She never managed to meet 3 of her great grandchildren due to distance, it happens. But a lot of nice things happened to her as they have to the queen.

I still find it utterly shameful that they didn’t attend Prince Philip’s memorial service ‘because of security concerns’ yet managed to visit the Queen within any trouble.
I bet that the Queen is dreading his ‘tell all’ book due out this autumn.
Presumably she’ll never meet her little granddaughter or see Archie again either, so sad.

Smileless2012 Thu 14-Apr-22 23:15:42

Good new for the Queen and Harry. It would have been very sad if he'd never seen his grandmother again.
