Prince Harry and Meghan secretly visit Queen in Windsor: Duchess sets foot on UK soil for first time in two years for 'olive branch' meeting after couple snubbed Philip's memorial on security grounds - but Lilibet and Archie stay in California

Time is a great healer , so they say, I believe it probably is in many situations, so hopefully this will be the case.
Life is too short , often folks run out of time, & then wish that things had been handled differently.

maddyone

The problem was the huge number of deleted posts on this thread. I’ll probably get deleted for saying it, but that was the problem. So the thread went lighthearted.
Happy Easter everyone.

Exactly.

However posters are free to return to the original topic !

I’m now feeling very inferior as I’ve not baked anything and now I’m off to cinema opera to see la traviata,

Oops sorry irrelevant.

There are land rovers. Cute ones. Nobody riding in the back in a Ruritanian uniform pretending to be a 1950's monarch. wink

maddyone Sun 17-Apr-22 11:44:41

What land rovers volver? Are there land rovers?

volver Sun 17-Apr-22 11:43:48

Surprised nobody's mentioned the land rovers.

Wonder why they had no problem with trotting around surrounded by crowds at the Invictus Games but were too fearful to attend a memorial service here.

maddyone Sun 17-Apr-22 11:21:43

his dad….

maddyone Sun 17-Apr-22 11:21:28

And for the record, I’m glad Harry went to see his granny, and apparently hid dad too.

maddyone Sun 17-Apr-22 11:20:42

I love Bara Bruth as well by the way (and occasionally make it though I’m not Welsh. My grandmother was though.)

Thank you zoe.

I'm happy they've been to see Harry's gran, as I would be for anyone in similar situation.

Boz Sun 17-Apr-22 11:14:13

There is a picture on H&M kissing and looking very happy together at the Invictus Games so perhaps they made the right decision.

Aspen

Once again those who don't like the way the comments are going change the direction to Simnel cake. Could you please go over to Chat instead of high jacking this subject.

What else would you like to say about M&H Aspen?

Please carry on. Don't let yourself be ambushed by cake.

JaneJudge Sun 17-Apr-22 11:10:01

I wouldn't mind if you posted a photo of a Bara Brith smile

tickingbird Sun 17-Apr-22 11:09:35

It WAS an H & M thread so it has been derailed and that was the objective. People don’t like being dictated to but happy to dictate to others - by stealth.

nadateturbe Sun 17-Apr-22 10:58:44

I love Victoria sponge, (although I'm a republican.)

I disagree JaneJudge no one is dictating , just stating that the baking of a cake has nothing to do with the O/P . Why not a thread on baking cakes ?

Is it acceptable for me to post I have baked a Bara Brith on a politics thread ? No it isn’t.

Oh Annie I love Barra Brith

Galaxy Sun 17-Apr-22 10:45:23

It went absolutely crazy so people talked about the deletions and then talked about something else. When you have that number of deletions its perfectly reasonable to well laugh.

Anniebach Sun 17-Apr-22 10:42:39

It’s a snub for whoever starts a thread

Galaxy Sun 17-Apr-22 10:26:36

Of course it is annie you can post anything you like as long as it doesnt break guidelines.

cn you remember marzipan fruits? my Mum used to make them, yet you never see them anymore

I certainly do remember them, In fact I have a box here. Not homemade but Fortnum and Mason.

Marks and Spencers also do them at Christmas

How clever of your Mum to make them! I have not had the luxury of home made marzipan for many years. My Grandma used to make a Christmas Log. Yum.

Fabulous simnel cake, maddyone!

for what it is worth, I don't let people dictate to me in real life so I am not about to be told what to do on threads here.

I have no idea how much can be said about someone visiting their grandmother. All my children are visiting theirs today. I wouldn't expect anyone to have an opinion and yes my Mother does think she is the Queen
