This is a word cloud was created to represent the most common replies of members of the British public when asked what they think of Boris Johnson.

I will always vote conservative while the alternative is a party that doesn't know what a woman is!

People will still vote Tory because there’s absolutely no credible alternative.
Sir Kier Starmer just isn’t that popular & the Labour Party seem a bit lost.

I'll never vote for a party who can't say that women have a cervix. They don't have a penis, men do.

Stella14 Wed 20-Apr-22 12:29:59

I’ve yet to hear from those who say “there is no credible alternative” just what they think is wrong with the highly intelligent, professional, scandal free, left of centre Kier Starmer! ?‍♀️

He came into office as a proven liar whilst London mayor and Brexit campaign. Once PM he complained he wasn’t paid enough, did some dodgy dealing decorating, lied to the Queen during Brexit shanagins and then sold the country down the river for the deal, tried to change rules to save his mate Parkinson. Nearly forgot his ‘IT lessons ‘ with the blonde he took away on tax payers money. So party gate lies are just him being the self entitled, morally bankrupt person he always was

All those words on the OP meme and more. I detest the man. I detest the whole party.

I was bought up in a Tory blue family. None of my family would vote them today and neither will I have ever again. The last time was 2010. I crossed the house as they say in parliament in 2015 and d will be stopping here.

Keir Starmer is a decent leader. He has principles, a quiet man who people haven't seen the best of due to Covid19 and now Ukraine.

This has kept Teflon Johnson face upfront with the Chaotic world/politics of the last 6 years.

Covid19 as we came out of the E.U has meant Labour have had to be supportive in many ways of actions taken.

The noise of what is happening thanks to all this and the media love in of Johnson/Tories due to tax havens haven't shown the best.

For anyone interesting listen to this link on LBC. Its the full hour of the interview by James O'Brien with Keir Starmer who you will find out is a dark horse. It's the quieter ones you need to watch. Quietly, assuming decent man

For all, voting tactically at the next election is the only way to get this shower of out

Johnson is a liar and a cheat. A sociopath, someone who has no moral compass.

I agree with Coastpath, about Sir Kier Starmer. And in my view he is a good man, very clever, moral and dedicated to this country as opposed to Johnson and many of his ministers who are dedicated only to themselves.

I think we’ve all had enough of charismatic leaders!

Thought it was always a wise man that could act the Fool.
Maybe............?

He’s a dick but he’s my dick and I voted for him. I can’t see any worthy alternatives plus in the end it boils down to jobs and taxes. That’s all ‘working man’ is really interested in.

One doesn’t usually vote in a dick to run a country - There-in lies insanity

sandwichgeneration Wed 20-Apr-22 11:57:33

Immoral

PrettyNancy Wed 20-Apr-22 11:55:35

The problem as I see it, is that Keir Starmer's Labour Party is just a watered down version of the Tories. Like Tony Bliar, he is a Tory just wearing a red coat, there is no real opposition from him, he will be no better as a PM, we need a major shake up, there are movements afoot to use tactical voting at the next election 'Anything but Tory' should be our mantra. Unfortunately I live in a very safe Tory seat. We must make people vote too, so many don't bother.

No, SecondhandRose, what every working man is interested in is income matching or exceeding outgoings, which is a different thing altogether.

spabbygirl Wed 20-Apr-22 11:50:19

I would add Liar to the word cloud, the reason is the bus, they have run down the NHS to make people go private and they had no mandate for that,
There is a great alternative, Labour are doing a great job holding Tories to account and any Labour gov't is better than Tory, whether you like the team in charge or not. The only exception is some folk in Tory safe seats are voting LibDem to get rid of tory, that makes sense to me

To continue, would you buy a second hand car or take financial advise from Johnson or Keir Starmer? It’s as basic as that.

Interesting. I bet there's been a massive concerted effort to dig some dirt on Keir Starmer and none has been found. To me he seems an entirely honourable and trustworthy person who has devoted his life to service.

The criticisms I hear about him aren't his about his integrity or intelligence they are that he's not 'statesmanlike' or that he's dull. I wish we could give him a chance and have a break from all the drama. Some cool, sensible, reliable stability could be just the antidote after all the chaos, lies and showmanship.

My word for Boris is charlatan.

I voted for Blair in 97’ & was so happy Labour finally got in. I really thought Blair was the answer to all the countries problems ( matter of much divided opinion with hindsight) - I just don’t feel that enthusiasm with Labour now though. And I’m not sure why?

I remember that election so well. A group of us stayed up waiting for Portillo's results and raised the roof when the results came through. Quite a few empty bottles by then.

I quite like him now - as a tv presenter. Quite a few Tory MPs become likeable once they've lost their seat and found something else to do. I think perhaps they let party loyalty get in the way of their own ideals.

Kandinsky Tue 19-Apr-22 12:05:13

Do you feel enthusiasm for the Conservatives

Not particularly no.
But it’s been such a strange few years what with covid & everything lots of people are very confused ( & possibly just thankful they’re alive )

JaneJudge Tue 19-Apr-22 11:34:55

BJ is the second hand car isn't he?

narcissist

Lovetopaint037 Tue 19-Apr-22 10:34:14

As said above he is not fit for office and is an outright rogue to boot. He is a disgrace on so many levels. More than the parties which are focussed on it is the fact he lied to Parliament, not once but time and time again. To accept this is to blight the whole Parliamentary process. Meanwhile he is parading on the world stage as if he is a reincarnation of Churchill or some Roman Emperor. He will do and say anything to save his political backside by providing distractions of as many kinds as he can produce despite the harm he may inflict on the reputation of this country.

There's a massive disconnect here, isn't there? The British public clearly have the measure of him, but so many would still defend him and vote tory.

Apparently over half of Tory votes come from the over 65s - that explains GN?
