I thought Sophie appeared very natural - not so much her husband. I don't find the tour to be offensive . Maybe such tours will stop in the future but as for now it makes a welcome change from football on TV which is always rammed down our throat

Once the Queen passes I am perfectly happy for the monarchy to be abolished!

They won't end up on skint street. The Monarchy has long outlived it's use.

The palaces and pageantry can go into the hands of the National Trust. The tourists will still visit

Aw that is sad Lizzie44. I didn't care much for shaking hands with Princess Anne to get my degree in the Royal Albert Hall, but my mum was ecstatic about sitting in the Spencer box. I'm glad I did, because she was ill and died shortly after.

I declined to go to my graduation ceremony in 1965 because I didn't want to "bob & curtsey" to the Queen Mother who was Chancellor at the time. I was very bolshie then but subsequently regretted my decision as I deprived my Dad of the opportunity of seeing me get a degree - something that meant to a lot to him. I'm much less bolshie now but still don't think we should be bobbing and curtseying to anyone. The monarchy seems like an anachronism and particularly the way it still behaves towards the Commonwealth.

It would be a very sad thing if the Commonwealth got disbanded. Also its a very unlikely thing.

Why do you think it should be disbanded? Its got next-to-nothing to do with Royalty any more.
