I think she is very mean to threaten Lee Anderson. She started the row by calling him names and he answered back.It was terrible what she did to Katy Hopkins. She is very touchy perhaps due to her claim to be autistic and disabled.

Jack Munroe called him a "rich white privileged male" - he's certainly rich, can't deny he's white, privileged - well, that can be any individuals point of view, can't it. Male - undeniable. Not name calling in any of those statements.

Both Hopkins and Anderson were warned to take down their posts, and apologise, before Jack Monroe instigated Court proceedings - her post on Twitter re the Anderson video -

This is a very clear cut case of outright libel. So far I can see it has 19,300 views. You’d be wise to take it down and fully retract and apologise before you make this any worse for yourselves.

The Reclaim Party on Twitter made the video, highlighted the video on Twitter, it's (at this moment) has 748.3 thousand views. Jack Munroe is being given by an MP as taking money from vulnerable. She's got to fight that - Anderson can't be allowed to do this.

Anderson has been rather stupid, hasn’t he? He has drawn attention to himself, insulted the poor, and been economical with the truth about being able to cook a meal for 30p. The claim is based on a college bulk-cooking Ready Steady Cook event eight months ago. He may have overestimated how many meals they made.

He makes a lot of noise so people start to look into who he. They find out about his history with the Labour party, that he was given an ASBO and defected to the Tories. They find the Michael Crick report which shows he is a dishonest man and that his support in the community may be from the hang ‘em and flog ‘em brigade. Local people who try to hold him to account are accused of bullying and being members of Momentum.

So what does he do when challenged? He starts telling lies and blaming others. Why wouldn’t you when it’s the ethos of your party and the Prime Minister? It’s obligatory, isn’t it?

What Anderson and Daubney said about Jack Monroe is slanderous. I see that she has now engaged a lawyer.

He said in the video that she was taking money off the poorest people in society. He said she was rich and he wasn't. None of that is true.

Hopkins falsely claimed that Monroe had vandalised a war memorial. Of course Monroe sued her.

Saying that people are touchy when they stand up for themselves and casting doubt on their state of health is just revolting.

Good. If she wants financial help to do so, I am in. Libel is written, slander spoken. Maybe she could bring more attention to the subsidised canteens and his £200000+ expenses in the past year. When he was WFH.

I posted a link to the same article on the thread mentioned by volver yesterday. Jack is an inspiration to many and no-one knows better just what is is like to have to exist on next to nothing. Her recipes are not only budget-friendly, however - they are good, tasty food and in the main, easy to make too. She wears her heart on her sleeve and says what she thinks and I for one love her for that.

I have huge admiration for Jack Monroe, she is articulate and straight to the point. What a comparison to the lying Johnson and his cohort. Some of the verbal attacks against her have been breathtaking in their violence and vitriol.

She is a hero

She writes from the heart, and it needs to be said and heard.

I agree MaizieD, a well written, hard hitting article.

She is inspirational, has had many troubles in the past.

Does not deserve the vitriol directed towards her by some of the Twitteratti
