I've watched very little. I dipped in and out on Thursday when it was so sadly clear that she was dying but presenters struggling to deal with sparse news didn't make for riveting TV, in fact I felt very sorry for them.
Yesterday I watched Charles' speech and most of the St Paul's service, and later, the BBC tribute programme which had so obviously been recorded earlier this year in preparation for this moment. I felt sorry for the family members who contributed who had had to put on mourning and talk about their mother in the past tense. But I suppose they were pragmatic enough to know that it had to be done.
I shall watch the Proclamation and then that's me done until the funeral. Unless some channel puts together a lovely programme about the Queen and her horses...
Obviously this moment has been planned for for a long time and the planners have failed to realise that we have moved on and, much as we are very sad that the Queen has died we're not going to go into deep mourning for her to the exclusion of all else. One programme a day from each channel would be quite enough, I think.
For those who are wondering about Ukraine, I've been following updates on Twitter and they seem to be pursuing a successful offensive operation towards Kharkiv. Not meeting a great deal of opposition from the Russians. Lots of lovely video clips of the Ukranian forces being greeted in liberated towns and villages. I'm so pleased for them. Long may it continue.
