Things King Charles might do

It would have been a polite gesture to inform the first Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford, that he was announcing William as 'Prince of Wales' BEFORE telling the world.

I think it's important to recognise that Balmoral and Sandringham (and probably other places too) are actually owned by members of the Windsor family. Highgrove is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall. Buckingham Palace, Windsor, Holyrood - owned by the Crown Estates (so us, is it?)

I don't think we should be in the business of turfing people out of their own property.

Only repeating what I read in the press of course but not sure Charles and Camilla would want to give up Highgrove, memories of their trysts.

Duchy Food is only a part of the Duchy of Cornwall. The King has done all right out of the Duchy.

Ownership of the estate has proven lucrative for Charles, and paid him an income of £21m for the year ending 31 March 2022, according to the duchy’s annual accounts.

I agree. Heaven forfend people having thoughts above their station. They should know their place in life and stay in it.

This assumes that the role of Princess of Wales is seen as something one might aspire to in a modern society.

As William is now Duke of Cornwall Highgrove would be convenient for him as a country pad. More uncertain are Sandringham and Balmoral if they are going to slim down they can’t keep everything.

Good, not my big foot in it again. Surely he will have gardeners who will carry all his work on. If it is open to the public it will make some pocket money. I was wondering about all the Duchy food will William get all the revenue from that?

I rather like Princess Anne. She comes across as a no nonsense type of person. I admired her decision to accompany her mother’s body all the time until it reached London.

She accompanied it to Windsor, too.

I have a lot of time for her, too. I like the way she wouldn't have her children drawn into The Firm and have any sort of titles.

I should imagine the V&A would run a mile if offered the Crown Jewels - the cost of insuring and securing them would cripple their budget for years.

Volver the Duchy of Cornwall isn’t just Cornwall as you erroneously seem to think. It covers a lot of the whole South West right up to Bath. Perhaps he will let the tenants buy their property, stop trying to build large housing estates in rural areas, and let farmers get on with their job but I doubt it somehow! Btw is he supposed to be with a capital H?

It used to be mine, I cycled everywhere as we didn't have a car, but my knees play up a bit now.

Its lovely if they all help their charities for nothing. We'll have more of that please, no private helicopters, thank you. Just the bikes.
The last time I saw Princess Anne she was attending three different events for charities or organisations in one day in different parts of the country. It would have been a bit difficult to get around on a bike.

Perhaps a motorbike? I bet she'd enjoy that. Or a trusty steed, galloping cross country in her uniform.
