Well at least the Palace took this incident seriously and didn't fob off Ms Fulani's complaint.
Well put tickingbird.

I agree that neither has come out of it well, but one ended up losing their job and the other used it to further some sort of vendetta on a certain group of people. I'm not sure they actually both got their just deserts.
You're right.
I do feel sorry for Susan Hussey.
We don't know that if she did have a habit of opening mouth and putting her foot in it but I doubt that as she must have learned her trade from the late Queen who never made such gaffes.
We won't see her in public again.
We will, I expect, see Ngozi Fulani more often now her profile has been raised as she will presumably be invited on to discussion programmes, Breakfast TV etc.
Forsythia
That should have been sent to Daisy Anne. Apologies. Too much sun!
Did you mean another poster, neither DaisyAnne nor me?
Sun? It's foggy here (again)
Incidentally, how does she go about finding out if the abused women are of Caribbean or African heritage? Don’t tell me she actually asks them??
You haven't actually looked at what the charity does have you?
I think she intended to get Camilla but had to make do with SH.
Honest to God...🤣
It’s a charity I won’t be supporting , I wonder how many of these charities are vetted properly, this one needs looking at as it’s all looking a bit suspicious now. I think the Palace should have supported Susan Hussey. Did anyone hear this conversation? Why is a person, head of a charity in this country so passionate about her roots shown by her appearance, be unable to just answer the woman and tell her about her history. All I hear mentioned is her privilege and wealth, she still has feelings and they haven’t been recognised. Has no one else never made a gaff.
The word violated has been used by Ngozi Fulani to describe the words which could be deemed racist and that her hair was touched.
Someone needs to ask Olena Zelenska, who was also at the reception, exactly how that incident compares with the rape of Ukrainian girls and women from 4 years old to 83 year olds by Russian soldiers.
That is violation.
Earlier on, one poster on here likened it to rape!
That comment makes me feel quite sick, having listened to Olena Zelenska, wife of the Ukrainian President, talking about the horrors perpetrated on women and little girls in her country by soldiers.
This incident and the aftermath has completely changed the focus of why the reception was convened.
It's quite astonishing that the focus is now on one woman and how inappropriate comments by another woman made her feel.
I hope the real purpose of this worthwhile meeting is not lost in all this maelstrom of outrage
This is whataboutery though.
Because worse things happen, it does not mean that the institutionalised racism in the royal family should be ignored.
Honest to God...🤣
Doubtful, very doubtful 🤔

No it is not at all.
It is absolutely on point.
The focus of the reception has changed because one woman felt outraged at comments made to her.
That is whataboutery.
What was the reception about? What was it for?
It certainly wasn't about her but it is now!!
It was about recognising people that do good work in the community, which this lady did.
But basically, the pro-royal opinion is that racism is to be accepted in the royal family?
The one that set this off was the lady that made the comments. Not the person they were aimed at.
But of course. The Black person always has to shoulder the blame for white racism.
I think Putin is suggesting some kind of possible peace if Ukraine acknowledges
disputed annexation!
Just saying….. there’s also major energy price hikes, cost of living crisis… take your pick.
Whataboutery.
*The reception was to raise awareness about violence against women around the world^
Now that aim has been lost in this argument about an inappropriate comment from one woman to another.
It is unacceptable.
If all true, while it does not make it acceptable or right, it does sound like the kind of thing old white people can say, especially if they have dementia. But I don't understand why the Palace doesn't monitor, prepare and train its aides better. I know they are unpaid but this was a sensitive event. Was there really no discussion about inappropriate and appropriate behaviour and conversation?
It's all very well the Palace condemning Lady Hussey's words, and leaving her out to dry, but it's the Palace's own lack of leadership that is on the line here. And why didn't the Queen Consort herself make a statement? Why P William? It wasn't his event.

I introduced Russia into the conversation because the rape and violation of Ukrainian women and little children was one of the focuses of this reception.
Well done to the Queen Consort for her speech, for speaking out about the dreadful violence perpetrated on a daily basis against women and girls around the world.
Camilla spoke loud and clear.
She spoke about why the reception was convened.
www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/nov/29/camilla-condemns-global-pandemic-of-violence-against-women
Looking into the whole reception, it was an event attended by people and charities from all over the world including the first lady of Sierra Leonne, the Queens of Belgium and Netherlands, the Princess of Denmark etc. The question of where they were from was a natural one given the wide diversity of the event, were they supposed to be able to tell just by looking at them? The first Lady of Sierra Leonne was asked questions about the native outfit she was wearing and didn't seem to find the question offensive at all.
It seems we can't even have genuine curiosity about each other anymore, it's disheartening as the vast majority of people don't have racist intentions. It's fast getting to the point where people are afraid to talk to each for fear of being labelled. It won't unite us and it won't make the world a better place. All very sad.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Point is one would hope less innocent people, men, women and children would die if and when a peace settlement is brokered.
Virtue signalling at the highest levels of society are really not solving the war.
Grammatical error.. is not
Let’s face it, we wouldn’t have heard about this reception if it hadn’t been for this incident. Violence against women and racism are both common in this society.
Tbh I begin to think that sadly the RF are unwise to have these sort of receptions and in light of this unfortunate incident perhaps they won't. It seems so easy these days to cause almost hysterical offense where none was clearly intended, so much so that the purpose of the reception or gathering is completely lost and becomes a pointless exercise. Charitable works would be best done by them below the radar and in private to avoid misunderstandings of any kind. I too think Camilla was the target! What a coup that would have been!! Bye bye coronation for sure,
”If it transpires that there’s more behind this (if we ever get the full story) I wonder if those on here throwing racist/bigot labels about would be prepared to accept they were wrong and perhaps apologise or would they just keep on being apologists for sly, underhanded, divisive race baiters?”
Guilty until proven innocent eh ?

Yes we would.
It was an international reception with representatives from around the world.
Any women who are interested in these issues should have been aware.
Did you not hear speeches from other women before this furore took precedence?

Exactly!
Surely Ngozi Fulani wasn't seeking attention?
