I watched "Woman in a Dressing Gown" fairly recently - it was on one of the many film channels that you really have to search through (Great! TV). I saw it in the cinema in the late 50's and I remembered it well - as Dickens said "British cinema at its best. Sylvia Sims played "the other woman".

Yes, she was lovely. My dad encountered her through work and really liked her.
(I saw Woman in a Dressing Gown mentioned. However, that was Yvonne Mitchell but perhaps she had another part).

I love "woman in a dressing gown" . It is a fantastic example of British cinema, a tale of ordinary people and their dreams and feelings. A love story and a tragedy, well worth watching.

Oh yes, it was an excellent film.

Yes she was a beautiful lady. Her Daughter Beattie Edney is also an actress and was in the series The Coroner with Clare Goose and also in Poldark.

I watched Ice Cold in Alex only last week or so. Always an excellent actress in a variety of roles in her long career. RIP.

Ice Cold in Alex was my father’s favourite film.

I thought she was great as the Queen Mother.

She was a very lovely young actress, but when she was older and no longer beautiful, she did very well as a character actress.

I thought she was a very authentic Queen Mother to Helen Mirren's Queen.
