whitewavemark2 With interest now being paid on savings accounts, why are you leaving such a large amount of money with the energy supplier? It would be more sensible to get most of that that paid back to you, put into a savings account at your bank and use it if and when necessary.

Yes you are right, but I was worried about how much this winter was going to cost so left the credit with the energy provider.

I must now request it back and put it with my savings.,

Governments work on the financial year Whitewave. Both the Cost of Living payments and Energy Support payments ended in March for the year 2022-23.

The help for 2023-24 is now beginning. I have posted the first to be announced - a Cost of Living payment - that goes to those defined by the government as the poorest, here.

The household energy bills discount you refer to, ended for 2022-23 with the March payment. There seems to have been nothing announced about a repeat of this in 2023-24. The Warm Home Discount, which was in place before the crisis, remains. This goes to those on Pension Credit and those on other benefits which suggest they will be fuel-poor.

I thought that was the case only my supplier has still only billed me for the reduced amount. I guess they will catch up eventually although I am £666 in credit!

No it’s not been extended whitewave It stopped with the March payment
They have extended the cap on fuel prices but not the actual monetary help

Has it stopped now? Only I understood that it had been extended.
