This brave man is being slowly poisoned ā€˜it is reported’ in an inhuman cell, with little lighting, for standing up to that brute Putin. I know there is nothing we can do to save him but I feel anyone who is able to should in some way advertise his plight.

His parents who were about to visit him recently were stopped at the last minute and his wife and daughter haven’t been allowed to visit either.

Putin’s and his henchmen say it is nothing to do with them, it’s up to the prison.

For anyone who is a believer please pray šŸ™ for him and others please just keep him in your mind.

I just hope his suffering ends soon. šŸ’

Did you see the news about the Ukrainian children, some just tiny tots, who were saved taken by the Russian troops to camps in Russia. They were to be "re-educated" and adopted by Russian families.

Some of the Ukrainian mothers have been able to travel by train to go and rescue them, but very few have returned.

According to the Ukrainian government, 16,226 children have been deported to Russia, of whom 10,513 have been located, and more than 300 have returned. Some fear the numbers of missing could be an underestimate.

Unaccompanied children, some whose parents were killed during the siege of Mariupol, have disappeared into a Kremlin-sanctioned system now under investigation by the international criminal court.

What is happening is shocking.
One day we will look back on this and ask Why? How can this happen again?

lixy Sun 04-Jun-23 17:27:53

The 'hearing' for his alleged terrorism charges is set for June 6th. I wonder if we will get to hear anything about it?

Callistemon21 Sun 04-Jun-23 17:33:38

Not the truth, lixy

Why, how can this happen again
Because nobody wanted to upset him with all his gas and oil.
And the west was too bloody lazy to sort out our/their energy needs

Depressing, isn't it ☹

Another 19 years in prison for Alexie how dreadful for the poor man and his family. His parents may never be able to see him again.

Putin is as bad as Hitler. I hope he rots in Hell.

I’m sorry NanKate, I hadn’t seen your post earlier and want to add my support to keeping the name Alexie Navalny in the public eye. A very brave man, a very brave family.

Now they are trying to sort out energy, home grown agitators and eco terrorists are doing their utmost to stop it. West can't win really.

Me too.. what an amazing courageous man.. Putin is pure evil..

Foxygloves Fri 04-Aug-23 20:03:59

I know I am being picky but could we at least do him the courtesy of getting his name right-*Alexei Navalny*

Foxygloves Fri 04-Aug-23 20:04:34

Alexei Navalny

Chocolatelovinggran Fri 04-Aug-23 21:49:29

Indeed. Let's shout his name loud and proud . Putin might lock him up, but he is not out of sight.

NanKate Sat 05-Aug-23 08:19:44

Absolutely Chocolate.

Thanks folks for joining me on this small thread.

His barbaric treatment has really resonated with me. He is about my son’s age and perhaps that is why I feel such a connection.

Apologies for spelling his name incorrectly. My late father-in-law always spelt my name with a C not a K which upset me.

Sparklefizz Sat 05-Aug-23 08:43:39

My heart sank when I heard that he'd been sentenced to another 19 years in prison.

Yes, Putin's name will go down in history as one of the most evil.

My apologies for nit-picking NanKate
I just felt ā€œAlexieā€ looked so feminine whereas Alexei is of course the Russian form of ā€œAlexanderā€

LauraNorderr Sat 05-Aug-23 11:12:23

Not nit picking Foxy, you are right, the man deserves to have his very masculine name spelt correctly. My apologies too.

What a brave man he is. I just wonder why nothing more is being done or said by the UN. Time for them to be disbanded and started again. How is it right to have a member state committing heinous war crimes yet still have voting rights. The UN is not fit for purpose any longer.
My main gripe is economic sanctions. There are many countries who have chosen to support Russia. To my mind the West should cease trading with them and look very carefully at what humanitarian aid is going to them. It’s entirely worrying that Russia is still committing human rights crimes unabated.
As others have said, let’s all hope and pray that Mr Navalny stays well.

eazybee Sat 05-Aug-23 13:10:16

I know someone with a Russian in- law. living in the west but who keeps in touch with the parents. The father believes implicitly in everything Putin says, the mother believes the information from her child, to the extent that the parents are virtually living apart. He believes NATO is massing to attack and invade Russia, and that Navalny is a criminal. Any film of bombing is either a mock-up, or a strike against Nazi sympathisers, still greatly feared in Russia. We don't realise to what extent the state controls information in Russia, and that some inhabitants are scared of facing the facts, because all their beliefs will be destroyed.

Smileless2012 Sat 05-Aug-23 13:17:35

It must be so frightening living in Russia. As you say eazybee scared to face facts and having their beliefs destroyed or scared to say anything that goes against the regime.

Another 19 yearsshock that poor man and his family.

Namsnanny Sat 05-Aug-23 14:09:11

Thinking of

ALEXEI NAVALNY

And his family.

(^UN not fit for purpose ^I agree with you Gillycat)

Blinko Sat 05-Aug-23 14:38:34

I’m not sure what the UN stands for any more. How can they allow Russia to remain a member, when Putin clearly is a dictator of the worst kind, a monster in fact. His treatment of Navalny and other brave dissenters is an abomination.

tickingbird Sat 05-Aug-23 15:00:16

I shall definitely keep him in my thoughts and prayers. A very brave man and I can’t begin to imagine his suffering. May Putin and his henchmen suffer the same before their end, which must surely come soon šŸ™

NanKate Sat 05-Aug-23 15:19:10

I’m with you tickingbird.

No offence taken over my misspelling. As we all know there are far more important things to concern ourselves about, especially a looming WW3 or a nuclear bomb, or both.

NanKate Tue 12-Dec-23 16:23:28

I’m back reminding all who care about Alexie Navalny that he has been transferred from prison and no one knows where he has been moved to ! His lawyers waited for hours to see him only to be told he was no longer in that prison.

Murderous Putin is starting his drive to be re-elected and he doesn’t want Alexie to be making comments that get into the press.

I am thinking about his parents and wife and daughter who must be beside themselves with worry and grief.

I know my posting here will not help him personally, but I am determined to keep him and other prisoners wrongly imprisoned at the forefront of news of GN. Please join me.

Smileless2012 Tue 12-Dec-23 16:36:56

So important to bump this thread especially at this time of the year NanKate; thank you for doing so.
