Huge criticism from all sides.

Yet another Braverman ghastly bill.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 15-May-23 14:56:03

Another vote for we don’t, unless you could provide evidence otherwise.

We do.

No really, we don't.

It is not racist or xenophobic to wish to decide who comes into your country.
Last year half a million people immigrated into the UK perfectly legally. The route into the UK should be legal. We cannot take thousands of people every year who decide they would like the benefits of living in the UK and simply turn up.

We don't.

V3 you used two negatives which used to be interpreted as a positive… never mind!

volver3 Mon 15-May-23 11:19:26

What maddyone said is not racist, is probably not racist. (Does that make sense?)

However Suella is responsible for lots of things that aren't racist. That doesn't mean she's not racist

I didn't say she was racist, you decided to interpret what I wrote that way.

ronib Mon 15-May-23 11:13:41

What is with all the personal attacks on Suella? Why not spend your time coming up with some workable solutions? Sensible ones. The chart would be a start.

volver3 Mon 15-May-23 11:07:52

What?

ronib Mon 15-May-23 11:05:30

V3 blimey !

"It is not racist or xenophobic to wish to decide who comes into your country."

Maybe not.

That doesn't mean Suella's not a racist though confused

Some facts already in the public domain. The rest is opinion.

The facts stand regardless of the opinion, that is the material point.

But quoting factual information.

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 15-May-23 09:55:36

An opinion piece Casdon.

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 15-May-23 09:54:02

Primrose see my post above as to the substance of the reports.

Casdon Mon 15-May-23 09:50:54

Hot off the press.

I see she has been reported by other lawyers to the legal body that oversees lawyers conduct as being racist and xenophobic.

The woman is a menace.

How can it be racist or xenophobic for any country to want to control it’s own migration numbers for the benefit of the country.
Doesn’t make sense.

Quite!

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 15-May-23 09:21:46

I suspect the lorry drivers and fruit pickers tend not to come on dinghies Grantanow. These are people who would apply for a visa.

ronib Mon 15-May-23 09:20:06

Suela Braverman is scheduled for 2 pm today. Maybe wait until the speech has been delivered to pass judgment?

westendgirl Mon 15-May-23 09:19:26

I wonder if Braverman really believes what she is promoting or is she really strengthening her pitch for 'leader of the Conservative party.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 15-May-23 09:12:02

Of course this speech is being made to the NAT CONS today, so we can expect a lot more of this nonsense.

Braverman and fellow attendees are in the minority of the Tory party and many do not agree with her rhetoric, including ministers.

Expect lots of this type of speech this week.

Grantanow Mon 15-May-23 09:08:09

We have an ageing population. Where are Braverman's lorry drivers and fruit pickers coming from when we are also short of doctors, nurses and Home Office immigration assessors? Is there a magic worker tree?

Then you are not paying attention.

They seem to predominantly complain about her comments regarding grooming gangs being mainly comprised of Pakistani men and that their values are not those of British people.
