That’s it really. Harry has lost his bid in court to be allowed to pay for armed security when he’s on the UK.

I do wonder if they had given themselves a year or so before starting a family if it would have made a difference to Meghan’s approach to her new royal life. hmm

I also realise she wasn’t a young bride, and time wasn’t on their side (to wait I mean).

I wonder if all was well until Archie arrived and Meghan then realised that she didn't want a royal life in the public gaze for her own children?

Yes, I realised that afterwards.

Meghan did have quite a lot of "training" after they got engaged.
The staff were handpicked by Harry.

I read that Sophie Wessex had been delegated to try to help her through the idiosyncrasies of the whole RF thing, but was brushed off.
She also had very down to earth, in many cases female team of staff appointed to her, including I believe Sam Cohen an Australian as her Press Secretary- so no men in grey suits .
But remember how Meghan announced she intended to “hit the ground running” ? That should have rung a few alarm bells.

A whole team of experienced people were handpicked by Harry to ease Meghan into Royal life and they tried their best, knowing the mistakes that were made with Harry's mother.

It's difficult to help someone who always knows best or doesn't want to know.
Then makes staff very upset.

You can take a horse to water .....

I hope they can sort things out.

Just so long as we realise that if it does all go pear shaped, we, along with the paps, will all be blamed, rather than themselves.

Anniebach Fri 26-May-23 09:59:10

Megan cuts people out of her life when she has no use for them, she will do the same with Harry.

?? Bolthole Hotel rooms

Joseann Fri 26-May-23 08:35:30

It's strange, you can have a maverick in the class or at work and often they tend to be the best performers and achievers. Meghan did start out like this, I don't think anyone wanted to stifle her enthusiasm. Her efforts were appreciated. Somehow she changed, around the time she fell pregnant?

harry and meghan's 5 yr wedding anniversary on 19th may, not seen anything of them celebrating it

as obviously not read by anyone I'm reposting and adding from;
The Telegraph
so copied and pasted.

Five years after their wedding, the omens are bad as Harry and Meghan seem to be heading in different directions.

Interestingly, it wasn't only the Telegraph who has reported that Harry has these bolthole hotel rooms but The Sun too. A representative for Harry quickly popped up to refute the claim, simply saying “This is not true,” but it's worth noting that both pieces remain unchanged.4 days ago so not retracted.

a talking point

Harry apparently wanted his security not only to carry weapons but to have access to the sort of intelligence that the police have re terrorism etc. A private security firm would not be allowed to do either of those things in the UK.

Joseann Fri 26-May-23 06:54:36

We'll have to use this one for the moment Allsorts!

Spot on Joseanne. The cheek of him. He does look haunted though, Trapped now with the lovely Megan, plus attached mil. . He goes on about his dysfunctional family, look what his children have been born into. No family either side, parents constantly seeking limelight and all the drama that goes with it.
I don’t know if there are any more court cases or people to sue so maybe they will retire to their estate and live simply, why isn’t there an emoji for a flying pig?

Joseann Fri 26-May-23 06:11:44

There's no problem with Harry leaving the UK and becoming as Americanised as he likes. Good luck to him. What he fails to realise is, that in the process you don't go slagging off the country you have come from and demonising your family back home.

nanna8 Fri 26-May-23 00:27:55

Why can’t he just hire private security agents, nothing to do with the official police force? I am sure he will anyway. Oh, I suppose they wouldn’t be allowed to have weapons, maybe that’s his issue ? What a boring litigious person he is, very American and not in a nice way. Apologies to the majority of nice Americans.

Well it's gone very quiet on the subject of the car chase Annie. Clearly a non starter.

We got sidetracked with American Brigadiers and Air-Commodores, and I think they wandered over from another thread!
Sorry, Smileless and Anniebach

🤔

I'm sorry.

I started that responding to a poster who thought perhaps training for royals-in-waiting-spouses might be a good idea.

I compared that notion to something I'd heard for brigadier spouses.

No more. No less. Training is likely good in some situations.

Callistemon21 Thu 25-May-23 18:10:34

Oh, I see how it happened.
It was relevant.

Smileless they have issued a statement, it seems to say it wasn’t true is abhorrent !

Brigadier is an army rank. the equivqlent RAF rank is an Air-Commodore. Clearly the USAF does it differently.

I explained that.

We were at a party of sorts at a USA RAF base, they have brigadier named as their air-commodore rank.

Clearly different as I stated in my follow up.

They care to ranks air-commodore and beyond. Odd attitude, I believe.
