I have sent a monthly direct debit contribution to Dignity in Dying for more than twenty years, ( changed its name slightly at one point).

Assisted dying will happen in every civilised country very soon now.

No I havent signed. My concerns are around the vulnerable in society, if you look at what happened to people with learning disabilities in the pandemic for example, I am worried for the implications for groups who are frequently treated as lesser within a medical setting.

The petition is asking for an urgent debate to take place Galaxy, where people with all opinions would be able to have their say. I know it's a topic that is very emotive. Personally I am in favour of assisted dying, but would, of course, want strict safeguards to be in place.
