There is never anything wrong with wanting biological children. It's what most would choose for themselves
Good Morning Thursday 7th May 2026
Bereavement wipes out everything
Professor Kathleen Stock’s talk this evening at the Oxford Union was disrupted by hundreds of trans rights activists. She told the BBC is isn’t hate speech to say males can’t be women.
The talk seems to have been welcomed, with half the audience giving a standing ovation though chanting from trans activists outside could be heard.

Isnt just children with dysphoria that should say.
We could supply all sorts if things on the NHS if that was the criteria Glorianny thankfully it isn't. It is just children with dysphoria either, in terms of legal action it also appears to be those prescribed them to delay puberty for other reasons.
Hi VS
Haven’t missed the vs VS.

In your opinion? Or can you give
evidence for that statement?
IMO, you’re back because there’s only 31 posts to go and you’re desperate to be in at the end, but that’s my opinion and free speech allows that.

The decision about puberty blockers is good news.
Especially to those who will supply through the black market.

As much as I dislike being a scapegoat for misplaced anger and vitriol, maybe the odd check in is better than a complete withdraw
I know. The vitriol against pregnant transmen was concerning, especially as most would say they are women, but women who can be castigated for being different.
So much simpler when you just accept people.

Imagine if all the hate and violence aimed by TRAs at women who stand for women's rights was directed to something positive. Imagine if these black clad, masked ninja impersonators, usually men, actually put that energy into helping people rather than getting so much joy from intimidating and violence. Of course being the cowards they are, that won't happen. The women at women's rights movements don't hide their faces. Whatever you think about Kelly-Jay Keen, and I do take issue with some of her views, she is brave enough to show her face, unlike the craven bullies that attempt to silence her and other women.

Not stressing, Glorianny, just posting the biological truths again!
Concerned about males in female safe spaces? Yes, but even more concerned about SP’s ready acceptance of untruths as long as it’s the males who are lying.
Not missing the endless implications from SP that only they accept trans, and definitely not missing the sneaky little get-outs like
^ as long as they do as little damage to others as possible^, usually accompanied by comments like its up to females to challenge the males if they don’t like them being there.

Me too glorianny
Imagine all this energy put into simply stating over and over again how trans people just cannot be visible and exist as who they actually are... Were put into something positive
Get off the merry go round, if joy is found in this it's unhealthy in the extreme. There are so many better routes to happiness

I've been following this thread with interest, if not commenting, but I have just realised how difficult it must be for all of you. You were worrying about transwomen in toilets and changing rooms, now you are stressing over transmen having babies. Just accepting they are people and can live their lives how they wish, as long as they do as little damage to others as possible, is so much simpler. Relax

Now England & Wales will not be prescribing puberty blockers except for "research purposes".
I do wonder what exactly is meant by research purposes and how children will be selected for that.
How can it be okay to do this research on any children at all?
Why can't they use info they've got from the children who have been treated so far?
Because no-one bothered to keep accurate records?
You're right Doodledog. It's playing with words and it's astonishing how many people are caught up in the confusion.
Mollygo a young relative of mine asked to be sterilised at 20 and was told she'd need to be at least 30 and preferably have a child or two before they'd consider it.
At 32, still childless & single, she went back and got the same response "What if you meet the perfect man & he wants a child?" "He wouldn't be the perfect man for me, then."
Still refused because she might change her mind.
Sterilisation was eventually achieved after seeing another GP and a consultant who wanted her to fit a coil instead (already tried with very painful effects).
Yet young children have been coached to believe they are the opposite sex and that they need harmful drug treatment which is likely to sterilise them, even without surgery.
Apparently no thought that they might change their minds.
My understanding is that (some) transmen want to have children, but be fathers rather than mothers. My objection to that is not on an individual level - the desire to procreate exists in men and women, trans or not - but in the 'Look at me! I am a man and also pregnant!! And I exist!!!' attention-seeking approach to the situation. The reality is that this is a woman who is 'living as' a man (whatever that means) and despite that is pregnant, which is only possible because of being female.
Nobody is likely to have said that this person doesn't exist. The idea that anyone would think someone else doesn't exist is in the minds of the trans lobby - it is blindingly obvious that someone standing before you, or in a photo exists, so the trope makes no sense to me at all.
Also, the notion that a man can conceive, carry and give birth to a baby is ridiculous. There was some confusion on here a while ago about advice supposedly given to midwives about men giving birth. People seemed to believe that this was genuinely about actual men, when it seems obvious to me that it referred to transmen whose sensibilities are too delicate to have their sex mentioned, even in the throes of that most female of activities - giving birth. The gaslighting insistence on not 'misgendering' people results in confusion and misinformation, and is not based on reality in any way.
Thanks for that Twitter link. FarNorth I have no idea about the ease or difficulty of getting a hysterectomy for transgender reasons. It’s bad enough when you have to have one.
I know nothing about having tubes tied or sterilisation other than what I can Google.
That person says she wants to be a man. Men cannot be pregnant, ergo she isn’t a man. Walking like a duck, and quacking like a duck doesn’t make you a drake.
Sterilisation is easy for biological females to get, right?
An adult woman who is sure she never wants to be a mother can make that decision and have it respected?
Doctors will carry out the sterilisation treatment she requires?

It shouts to me of a move towards making women pointless. Remove us from the language, pretend that men can do anything we can do (and beat us in areas where physical strength is important) take away our sense of self along with any security that women’s spaces afforded, and hope we just disappear.
Blessed be the fruit.
if she really wanted to be a ‘man’ (whatever that is), she would have had the child bearing equipment removed and like any real male, couldn’t have given birth anyway.
Hysterectomy is not to be undertaken lightly, especially for a young woman. It's understandable that someone wouldn't want to do that and would hope to just ignore it.
There are men who call themselves women and who claim they'd want to be pregnant and give birth.
It's all part of their fetish.

Is it because of childbirth that women are supposed to have a higher pain threshold than men? Doesn't apply to me, my threshold for physical pain is embarrassingly low
I did give birth twice though.
I just think biological women get on with it better.
Men tend to make more of a fuss...😉

There was also a saying DL that if men had to give birth there'd never be more than one child in a family, because they'd never be prepared to do it again.
Interestingly, if she really wanted to be a ‘man’ (whatever that is), she would have had the child bearing equipment removed and like any real male, couldn’t have given birth anyway.
There is no fame to be had in being a pregnant woman, unless you’re famous to start with. But a pregnant woman(female) who says she’s a man . . . It’s a lie, but it’s a headline-grabbing lie.
I’m not actually sure that works anyway. In 2004, it was decided by males, that men could call them selves women. Some immediately and ignorantly and wrongly presumed that made them female. An increasing number of ignorant males have jumped on the bandwagon.
Has there been an act passed that says females can call themselves men?
