I made the point because I want to the point. ???
Are you irritating in RL? (light hearted)
Good Morning Wednesday 6th May 2026
When Prince Harry gives evidence in the Mirror phone-hacking trial on Tuesday, he will become the first senior royal to be cross-examined in court since the 19th century. Based on what happened earlier in the trial, it is unlikely the prince will enjoy the experience.

I made the point because I want to the point. In the same you're talking about Harry's court case, have you whether Harry? Does his case affect your life?
No WR I said it would be attention seeking to deliberately call King Charles, Charles, in front of the media who would all seize on it, the way they do every thing.
If you think they wouldn’t . . .
Majesty is just a title, like Mr and Mrs that someone uses because it goes with their role in society.
If you really object to someone’s title, why speak to them at all? Why try and be equal? Would anyone except you care?
Oh GMS that seems to be so true, judging by what he tells us. They just won’t take any advice. Sounds familiar doesn’t it? It’s going on right under our noses for everyone to see today.

If you don’t intend to meet King Charles (and most of us never do meet the King) you don’t need to assert that you’d call him Charles. The situation would never arise.
The pig-headed ones are the worst.

You can give your client advice but you can’t make them take it.
Exactly what my son says.

Perhaps he is too
thickarrogant to believe Chelsy had just had enough of him as a person?
My friend used to wonder why he didn't just give up Royal life and go to live quietly with Chelsy, somewhere perhaps in her homeland; she thought no-one would really be interested in them if they didn't go out of their way to attract publicity.
Harry has used HRH on the front page of his statement.
Which I think he's entitled to do in this situation
But you've called someone attention seeking for not using your majesty. I don't intend meeting him. I work for a charity so i guess he could come to visit but it's unlikely.
The words Majesty and Highness means superior and I think William and Charles are just normal people. If they'd done something wonderful like invent something that cured an awful disease but they have been given those titles for being born.
RW
I don't think I'm superior to anyone.
So sorry, it’s just the way you put things that made it seem like that.
And if you don’t know why it’s bad manners, then you don’t.
I wonder how Harry will get on under the sort of cross examination he is going to get. His vague statements about articles that he can't remember, but thinks they upset him are not going to cut it.

Phone hacking is appalling. Whoever the victim is. I don’t think anyone has disagreed.
My phone calls are mostly innocuous, except perhaps for sharing complaints with my family and friends about OFSTED (which might affect my job) the treatment of my Mum in hospital, (which would embarrass her), but I wouldn’t like them published, and if I could pay to stop that happening, then I would.
RW
The whole basis of the Royal family is that they are special and deserve riches and attention.
I wouldn't camp overnight to watch a person who is no better than the rest of them.
You’re entitled to your views about the RF.
You missed the thread where lots of posters said they wouldn’t camp overnight so we’ve already heard that. It was personal choice. How did you decide your choice is superior to others?
If I did meet him, if call him Charles because he's my equal.
If you did meet King Charles and called him Charles, I’d think you were doing it to call attention to yourself. If that’s how you want to appear, go for it.
His good manners would mean he’d ignore your bad ones. Being equal doesn’t always mean dumbing down to the lower level.
Bringing attention to myself, I don't want to meet him full stop so how is it bringing attention to myself. What a rude comment. How is it had manners not to call someone 'Your Majesty'? I'm happy to call someone Dr if they've studied to become one, the same with professors who but what has this man done to deserve his title?
I don't think I'm superior to anyone. You're the o me using words like dumbing down to the lower level so you're saying has to come down to a lower level.
The King is wisely keeping his distance in Romania, is he not?
I expect the other Royals may well have gone to ground too, maybe a remote Hebridean island, or the Lake District where you can never get a signal
In his statement
Prince Harry claims there was a secret agreement struck between royal family and “senior executives” at Murdoch’s company at some point before 2012. As part of this supposed deal the princes would delay legal proceedings against the newspaper group in return for receiving an apology at a later date.
Harry said the royal family did this after being scarred by the “Tampongate” incident when several publications obtained a phone call between Prince Charles and Camilla recorded while the couple were having an affair in the 1980s
the king will not be pleased harry has bought that before the court.

He gave the money to charity Glorianny.
Is there proof of that?
But maybe Chelsey dumped him because…well, just because she dumped him?
You or rather Harry, can’t blame the press for everything.
And as for the press leaking stories about his smoking pot at Eton, underage drinking, etc - maybe he should have thought about that first?
Do we all remember the hoo ha about Prince Charles at Gordonstoun and the cherry brandy? Poor kid!

He gave the money to charity Glorianny.
I think you've missed the point, whatever happened to the money he took it in the first place.

I've sort of had a quick scan of Harry's statement, from afar, and it comes across to me like yet another whinge fest. All about his wah didums rough life being a member of the Royal Family. I am right behind him on the phone hacking issue, but not the stupid references to only smoking cannabis while at Eton - (isn’t cannabis considered a drug?), where any other pupil would in all likelihood have been expelled. And the rubbish about Chelsey being so overwrought with all the intrusion that she dumped him. Etc.
Wah wah! Just a rehash of the same old material, which, ironically, the more we have been served up, the less it is now having any effect.
And the rubbish about Chelsey being so overwrought with all the intrusion that she dumped him. Etc.
Thing is, the press are intrusive - especially when there's a "love interest" where Royalty are concerned. However, my sympathy lies with Chelsey, who quite possibly did find the constant intrusion intimidating and insufferable. Imagine having them parked outside your house, or where you were studying. Not to mention the 'phone hacking of her voice-mails by a PI - or maybe she wasn't aware of that at the time.
I can only imagine what it must be like to have to live your life in such a gold-fish bowl. She did say it was something that "you don't get used to". But whether this was the reason for the break-up is debatable.
I don’t feel at all sorry for him. He doesn’t care how badly he treats others. Their feelings don’t matter.
Whatever happens it won’t be his fault you can bet on that!
I think that thus far it's all a lot more 50:50 when it comes to whether Harry wins his case or not.
The burden of proof required in this case is on 'the balance of probability', and not beyond reasonable doubt.
You can give your client advice but you can’t make them take it.
I suspect he overruled their advice NotTooOld as he's probably overruled good advice in the past. For the first time I feel a bit sorry for him too
.
I'm wondering why Harry's legal team allowed him to bring this case when, from what I've read so far, it looks very likely he will lose. Are the legals in it for the money or is Harry just over-ruling their advice? I think he's been very silly in recent years but I can't help feeling sorry for him at the moment. He's looking very much like a lamb in the lions' den.
Perhaps he is too thick arrogant to believe Chelsy had just had enough of him as a person?
