What will this do for the SNP?

It's all very odd.

Released without charge

Callistemon21 Sun 11-Jun-23 18:32:32

I dont understand either.
I'm sure she would have willingly gone in and answered questions if requested, without having to be arrested.

I agree with your tickingbird. All seems very emotive language to me. However if that's the law sobeit. Seems OTT to me even though I'm not a fan. Think it was April for her husband. Perhaps they've discovered some new material? Sure seems like a slow process in Scotland but - maybe a more thorough one?

This was always going to happen at some stage. She has been released without charge pending further investigation, same as Peter Murrell and Colin Beattie.

It means your liberty has been taken away, you don’t have a choice.

I understand that but people aren’t automatically arrested if they’re willing to attend for interview.

Why can’t they just ask someone to come in for questioning? Why do they need to arrest?

It means your liberty has been taken away, you don’t have a choice.

When her husband was taken in for questioning and the matter of the large loan was disclosed, I did think then that she must have known what was going on - and if she didn't, why not? A large loan to her party, from whatever source, must have come to her attention, and she could hardly claim to have not known that her husband was the donor.

😲

Well, DH was watching Humza Yousaf with Laura Kuenssberg this morning 😴 and I said "there's one thing about Nicola Sturgeon - she was never boring"

She just proved me right again!

This may clarify

Oreo Sun 11-Jun-23 16:07:36

Same in English law isn’t it?
So Nicola S is ‘helping the police with their enquiries’ 😲
Have read that it was only a matter of time as there are SNP finance questions to be answered.

Was bound to happen - at some point wink

Mollygo Sun 11-Jun-23 16:00:08

No idea-is it a Scottish law thing?

Nightsky2 Sun 11-Jun-23 15:21:56

Surprised it’s taken so long.

welbeck Sun 11-Jun-23 15:15:23

this is an active matter.
let us all be careful to observe the requirements of
the contempt of court act 1981.

Bl… good job too.

Louella12 Sun 11-Jun-23 15:05:30

Released without charge doesn't mean anything. Investigations ongoing

NanaDana Sun 11-Jun-23 14:57:03

Let's not forget that her husband Peter Murrell, former SNP chief executive, was also arrested, as was the, SNP treasurer Colin Beattie. They were both later released without charge.

Visgir1 Sun 11-Jun-23 14:47:12

Well I bet Boris is pleased takes the heat off him.
She always tried to get the upper hand on him? she's done it again.

It was only a matter of time.

Smileless2012 Sun 11-Jun-23 14:46:18

Wow that was quick Molly you just beat me to it, held in custody for questioning.

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 11-Jun-23 14:46:11
